We visited the castle on our touring itinerary. The view from the valley below is great as it stands out on a peak and really looks the part. Inside the grounds the castle is also looks really good, especially from certain angles for photos. The tour inside was disappointing however as the castle was small and in most rooms lacked... More

Seeing Lichtenstein castle from photos it looks very impressive. Seeing it in real life, you realize it's actually quite tiny! The interesting architecture of this towered castle on its mound with it's drawbridge still makes it worth visiting, but it's quite a quick visit after you've taken your pictures, taken the short tour and soaked in the view of the... This is the coolest castle I have seen. It is perched on a stone cliff and looks as if it was comes out of the rock. We didn't go inside, but seeing it from the outside was just amazing and only cost a couple of Euros.

This castle was amazing!!! Pretty small compared to other castles, but sooo cute. The view is breathtaking as well, plus its right on the edge of a cliff, which makes it so much more unique. The picture do not do any justice, you must come and see it for yourself. Even though the tour was in German, and I only... More

This castle complex is amazing. First of all, while it is on a hill, you do not have to climb the hill to get to it. Instead, you simply park in the parking lot for 2 euro, and across the street, you will see the castle grounds on the other side of the field. from the outside, the castle doesn't... More

Beautiful castle on the hillside. It is very small which is a good thing to me because long castle tours get very boring especially if you like most American tourist and dont know an ounce of German. I went in August of 1995 when i was living in Germany so im sure much has changed since then. However, one thing... More

We love visiting in castles, and this one was special and unique. Despite its small size, this structure still manages to create a dominant and dramatic appearance, with its massive tower and outstanding position atop a secluded cliff. Straight from the knights cartoon program. While small, its small size is actually an advantage. There are lots of huge castles in... More

Beautiful, elaborate, indulgent and massive. Worth seeing. Have your passport stamped, even though they really don't have to do that anymore.

This was something we decided was worth the small detour on our roadtrip through Bayern and Baden-Württemberg. We were on a travel day from Schwangau to Strasbourg France on our final day via Tübingen. After visiting Neuschwenstein and Hohenshwangau castles the day before how could we not stop to see another :) Turned out to be my favorite!! All the... More
