We visited Dachstein on rainy June. We took the cable car to the top and.............it's raining, so we can see nothing :( The view from the train station to the valley (cable car station) was really beautiful. We love this place.

We took the cable car to the top and went through the ice cave and enjoyed the views from the observation deck and even had lunch in the cafe on top. This all happened in May 2012. We have been back twice since then and have had bad weather both times. We would love to go back up since they... More

Bitterly cold and windy June !! when the bridge went into cloud looked a bit spooky as the end seemed to disappear , 10 euros I think it was plus cable car fee so ends up quite expensive but i think worth it.

It is a really great experience, everything is perfectly set, exciting to be there. In case you have the Sommercard (from your hotel), than the route and parking is free and also the cable car, otherwise the route cost 6EUR/person, the cable car is 35EUR/person). Look for the weather forecast before you go there and ensure you dress up for... More

A dramatic glacier with fresh snow in June. The sky walk is a vertiginous challenge but manageable. Obviously need to choose a clear day. The cable car does not run in bad weather.

We visited Dachstein as an afternoon trip during our skiing holidays in Schladming. It entirely exceeded our expectations! The spectacular views are one thing, but what was really amazing for us was the bridge over the chasm. It was really thrilling, I would even say a bit frightening, to enter it and take a walk. This is something you may... More

This is not a cheap excursion if you go at the wrong time of year. During the ski season it is covered by a Ski Amade pass but if you don't have one or you go out of season it is expensive. Unless of course you go in The Summer Card Season and are staying at a Summer Card Partner... More

We rented a car from Salzburg and the hour drive was beautiful but once we arrived at Dachstein Glacier, and paid the 34euros each to take the state of the art, cable car to go up up up, higher than the birds in the sky, it was totally worth The Once in a Lifetime view! The bridge and stairway were... More

We went to Dachstein Ice Palace from Schladming. The bus and cable car ride came to over €50 per person. The views from the skywalk (which is a viewing platform) are stunning as is the restaurant. The ice palace is really disappointing, poorly signed, extremely slippery with cables everywhere. The sculptures are sub standard. Make sure you check weather as... More

We happened to visit here on a very cloudy day and in fact it was snowing. Unfortunately did not have any views but i am sure that on a clear day it would be great. The stairs to nowhere are an unusual attraction here. I loved being out here in the falling snow even without the view!
