We visited Dachstein as an afternoon trip during our skiing holidays in Schladming. It entirely exceeded our expectations! The spectacular views are one thing, but what was really amazing for us was the bridge over the chasm. It was really thrilling, I would even say a bit frightening, to enter it and take a walk. This is something you may... More

This is not a cheap excursion if you go at the wrong time of year. During the ski season it is covered by a Ski Amade pass but if you don't have one or you go out of season it is expensive. Unless of course you go in The Summer Card Season and are staying at a Summer Card Partner... More

We rented a car from Salzburg and the hour drive was beautiful but once we arrived at Dachstein Glacier, and paid the 34euros each to take the state of the art, cable car to go up up up, higher than the birds in the sky, it was totally worth The Once in a Lifetime view! The bridge and stairway were... More

We went to Dachstein Ice Palace from Schladming. The bus and cable car ride came to over €50 per person. The views from the skywalk (which is a viewing platform) are stunning as is the restaurant. The ice palace is really disappointing, poorly signed, extremely slippery with cables everywhere. The sculptures are sub standard. Make sure you check weather as... More

We happened to visit here on a very cloudy day and in fact it was snowing. Unfortunately did not have any views but i am sure that on a clear day it would be great. The stairs to nowhere are an unusual attraction here. I loved being out here in the falling snow even without the view!

We went skiing on the Dachstien glacier in July and it was awesome! What a treat! The ride up on the cable car was beatiful we had clear blue and sunny skies and fluffy clouds. You can fell the altitude so skiing fast is not an option at first - more slow and steady and enjoy the beauty and the... More

We were lucky to be in Dachstein on a sunny day, moreover there was an Austrian bank holiday, so the price for the cable car was reduced by 25%, otherwise if you want to see it all, you have to pay over 41euros- i.e. for the cable car and the Ice Palace including the price of the suspension bridge. A... More

A good experience to be High up on the mountain. I thought it a bit expensive at 33 euros each. but the sky bridge was free on the day, I cant believe you would normally have to pay for this. Didn't go to the Ice Cave, as we were not particularly interested. Did get some stunning photographs, on what was... More

Had a great time here, the views on the clear day we had were amazing. Got some great photos on the Bridge, the Sky Walk and in the Ice Caves. worth the trip and the money! If you do try and go on a weekend, I suggest you book ahead, we tried to go up at 10:30 on the Sunday... More

This was totally worth its money. Although you are charged seperately for The Ice Palace and Skyview platform, still worth it. Unbelievable view. Grossglockner and the Austrian alps for your eyes only.
