Walking through a little forest path and through a hillside you will reach the best spot in Mexico to watch a sunset. Don't forget to take a photo besides the gigantic "Organo" a huge cactus tree!!!

Short walk through Mazunte to Punta Cometa to watch the sun set. There are plenty of viewing areas to watch the sun set or spend the day on the beach. Bring your own water and food as there is nothing available on the beach. The waves are fairly large here and so careful swimming or no swimming would be prudent.

Although I'm sure on other days the sunset here is great, we were unlucky enough to get there early, get a great spot, and then re sunset itself wasn't very good... Some nice views all in all, but not the best.

The sunsets are amazing. Most beaches are connected through trekking paths so you can choose from which specific cliff you want to watch the sunset, or from the beach.

After little hike you end up in Punta Cometa where you can experience the most breath taking sunset. The Pacific is not so peaceful and the sun appears to be bigger than normally.

Gorgeous place to see the sunset!! A must do when in the Mazunte/Mermejita Beach area! Get walking early and get a spot...everyone migrates that way at sunset. :)

Jogged around here a few times while hanging out in Mazunte, several guided trails up to the point. Excellent views of Mazunte and the other side. Great for sunsets and sunrises. Some people head up here with a bottle of wine (or other substances) for sunsets. There are a few beaches or stoney coves around it. And finally you can... More

Great walk out to Oaxaca's westernmost point for sunrise and sunsets you won't forget. Take the longer "pescadores" trail on the way out and the shorter return leg in the failing light. Plenty of company for the sunset action.

If you want to have a scenic view of playa Mazunte and San Agustinillo it's great place to be but go there early because after 10:30 hrs it's a little bit hot. Try the "sendero del pescador " also to have a great view on a Mermejita beach. It's seem to be a great place for the sunset but bring... More

You can watch a beautiful sunset from this point and is within walking distance from Mazunte. Some people are dancing traditional pre-hispanic dances which gives a nice background music to the sunset.
