Using the Hides is a great way to see the kites up close and gives the opportunity to take great photos

We arrived about half an hour early before the feeding time and found a space in one of the hides. Almost as soon as we arrived the birds starting circling in the air, waiting for the tractor to bring the food. It was amazing watching the ~150 kites diving down to take the food. Farm location is very pleasant with... More

A very enjoyable (free) visit. We had lunch in the cafe, which was nice, freshly cooked and reasonable. The kite feeding is very impressive. We met friends who had been for a walk around the lake, which took about twenty minutes. The only slight downside is that the shop is closed for about half an hour after the kite feeding.... More

Well worth a visit and arrive half an hour before feeding time (15.00 in BST). Hides protect you from the weather and tea available to warm up in winter.

At feeding time up to 150 kites were flying round and taking the food, together with about 50 ravens. Magic

Like the hotel in general will be much better when refurb completed which is now underway. Nothing to dislike as there is a lot of history to it being it was an old work house.

This was a wonderful experience. We got a close up view of these spectacular birds plus a couple of buzzards. Excellent value at £5 each. The feeding is 2pm. We watched from a hide. We think there were near on 400 of these spectacular birds showing off their acrobatic skills at very close proximity. We took hundreds of photos and... More

Went on a day when it was raining slightly but it did not detract from the sight of the red kites coming in to feed. Absolutely beautiful birds and so graceful. Too a packed lunch with flask with my husband and sat in the car afterwards and had a sandwich and drink, it was actually a very nice day. I... More

Not much to say since it is a very simple experience but it is unmissable and costs very little. There is also a farm trail which is more of a summer thing whereas the Kites are all the year round.

Great views of this fantastic bird feeding in numbers of 200+. Lasts about 90 minutes. Good value for money at £5 per adult. Small cafe for lunch or coffee.
