Didn't really know what to expect. Wanted something different and this was different. A spectacular sight seen from hides. Even if you are not that keen on birds and nature this is still an experience not to be missed. Red Kites swooping in their droves or whatever Red Kites swoop in. But certainly a spectacular sight. Even had the farm... More

We visited on Wednesday 10th July 2014 and luckily the weather was fantastic! We arrived just before feeding time (3pm) and settled in one of the hides in anticipation. The marvelous Red Kites can be seen circling the feeding area before hand and the group increases and increases right up until 3pm. At around 3pm you hear the tractor coming... More

If you want to see Red Kites at their best then this is the place to go. They are fed at 3pm in the summer and 2pm in the winter months. The sight of all these birds coming down to feed just takes your breath away. The farmer rides his tractor into a field at the right time and throws... More

This was an experience that I will never forget. I am not a twitcher although interested in seeing birds in their natural setting. The red kites began to gather high in the sky about half an hour before feeding time. Gradually more and more came and by three o'clock there was about 300 soaring around. I have never seen anything... More

The feeding of the red kites was absolutely amazing and wonderful to see. To see them swooping down to get their feed was brilliant. Well worth the £4 entrance fee.

To see 100's of red kites coming in to feed is just amazing! These are majestic birds and the hides allow you to get up close and see them in brilliant detail. Comfortably worth £4 of anyone's money!

Saw ad for red kite feeding and Welsh Royal Crystal factory as things to visit in Rhayader (we were in Wales for two weeks) Bought some crystal at the factory and were too early for the kite feeding, so came back another day. We were absolutely awed by the experience. The hides provided excellent viewing as hundreds of kites swooped... More

The illusive red kite was definitely not illusive ! Great shots were captured by my dad who is an armature photographer. It seemed a little expensive, £15 for three people, but hey, what else can you do for that? ... Oh and you can take dogs, great !

We had been aware of this centre for a while so combined it with a trip to Wales. Until you go you just don't appreciate how impressive this sight is when feeding time arrives. We hired a raised hide for viewing and were fortunate to have it to ourselves for the whole hour of feeding, other hides are available and... More

Stopped off on our way back from University pick up. We have often seen the kites circling and this time got the time right for feeding. 3pm summer time, 2pm winter. Colin directed us in and told us that we should see 200 or so. There were already 40+ circling at 2pm. We didn't go into the hides as it... More
