If you love birds you'll find this place jaw dropping when the kites come in to feed. To see them in such numbers and so close up was, for me, emotional. The centre do an amazing job and the money collected from the entrance fees is used to buy the meat to feed the kites. They are not subsidised by... More

We have been here many, many times over the last 11 years and have never been disappointed. An amazing experience. One tip, if it is raining really hard, be patient and wait for it to ease off. You will be rewarded. The birds can't fly in torrential rain but as soon as it eases, they will come. You will see... More

If you love birds, this is a truly wonderful place to visit. Grab a seat in a hide, set up your camera, and be prepared to get some amazing shots. Or just sit and enjoy the aerobics of these amazing birds. "Gigrin Farm is a small venture and is reliant upon the honesty of its customers in paying the right... More

Beautiful place to visit to watch the majesty that is the red kite, you may also see buzzards and other birds. The hides vary in size and position but there was no one attending to see if you had paid for the superior hide so buy a cheaper ticket and upgrade for free.

Dear Caroleb 170 Thank you for visiting Gigrin Farm and for recommending the farm to other Trip Advisor users. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed seeing the kites, however, we are very concerned, and surprised, that you encourage people to pay the minimum entrance fee and then take advantage of our trust, and upgrade to a specialist hide... Stopped here whilst staying nearby and picked up the idea from trip advisor. We arrived at 130pm and were pretty much the first ones there. The hides were well positioned and over the next hour we watched the crows appear, followed by ever increasing numbers of kites, all slowly hevering overhead until the chap wtih the tractor came to distribute... I am not usually drawn to any outdoor activity in January but found this to be an exciting, rewarding activity with something like 400 swooping red kite ,plus a few buzzards and crows feeding for around 40 minutes. Countryside views were undulating and beautiful ,a well run enterprise that will be deserving of a return trip, next time with grandchildren.
