The visit to the museum was very well organised, and interesting. The guided tour was very complete - all in all an unexpected highlight of the trip to Favignana.

We didn't know the history of the Mattanza and the Florio family, it was very interesting to learn all of this. Cheap: price 6 euros but the turist guide is free of charge. You can also find some Interviews from ex employees and a photo exhibition.

An interesting experience, more than expected. You can visit all the building and have the guide for free, just be here a the time that the guide will start. Very surprised and touching the direct experience from the people that worked into the Tonnara (not sure you can have it in English). The only concern, be aware that the way... More

Old tuna factory, big and beautifully renovated. It has several rooms where they explain how they used to work in the old times... A must if you go to Favignana!

The guided visit (about 1h15') allows you to have more information about Florio family and an overview about how and when the "tonnara" happened. You can see boats, old cans for tuna fish, fishing nets, photos, videos etc. Honestly nothing special even if the young guide was well prepared

Convenient and very impressive congress venue where is also possible to visit special rooms with archeological objects, historic technical tools and special boats to fish tunas in the nineteenth century fashion.

This lovely historic building which was a tuna fish processing factory is now a museum. It is a very attractive building both viewed from the exterior and indeed from within the inner courtyards. We recently visited it because it housed an exhibition of art by Sicilian artists which was truly inspiring. The standard of works on display was generally excellent.... More

The huge florio now contains all of the artifacts from the very manual tuna industry of old which is now defunct.

I wasn't particular keen in going to this museum but now that I did I don't regret it. What piece of history and tradition this place still offers. We where lucky to have an ex worker of this establishment "zio beppe" who through traditional language explained some key duties they used to do as well as some traditional songs and... More
