This was a heartwarming experience. We had a chicken and peacock following us around the whole garden - all the birds were very friendly (and not pushy). There was a wide range of birds to see. Wear covered shoes - there are a lot of biological mines around.

Lovely gardens but far too many chooks and ducks... I was expecting more variety of birds... Still fun for kids, mostly thanks to the play area.

A great couple of hours can be spent at the bird gardens. Lovers of birds, gardens and those looking for a great photo opportunity should be very happy visiting. There are caged birds from around the world with information about the birds displayed as well as birds that are free to roam as they please. All the bids are friendly... More

If you don't mind birds up close you will love this place. Beautiful gardens and tonnes of birds to feed! A lovely walk through rivers, ponds, aviaries and well maintained gardens.

Lovely gardens (not too manicured) and lots of birds to admire. Doves will fly to your hand for feeding and most birds will eat from your hand if you hold it down low for them. Suitable for all ages. Nice cafe attached with good coffee.

Was not a planned visit but went there when we saw the sign post on the road. Turned out to be nicer place than expected. Very nice and larger area with a lot of birds. You can buy bird food to feed to chooks and ducks too. Lots of vegetation and trees. Small cafe is there for afternoon/morning tea. Prices... More

In search of a cup of tea, we followed the sign from the main 25 road to Katikati Bird Gardens. We had a lovely cup of tea and homemade scones overlooking the gardens and then found there is a cottage for 2 for hire. Beautifully furnished with quality ornaments and decor we took the cottage for the night. We had... More
