Peaceful oasis for a dog day afternoon.

When you are coming up to the turning for this, the sign will also say 'Glencoe House Hotel', it's just after a sharp bend. You drive along a track which heads to the hotel, but turn off right, just before it. The lochan is actually in the grounds of the hotel. When you arrive, there is tons of parking, and... More

We got here after a short bike ride along the main road and found a lovely forrest, good paths (up and down the hill but not too steep!) and the charming little lake with a couple of picnic tables. Loved it!

There are a choice of three walks within the forest which can be joined together into one, which is what we did. The first section - Mountain Walk - is very steep and rocky but it becomes easier from there on. One section of the walk is flat and is wheelchair friendly. It took us about an hour to complete... This little lake is very good for an easy hike among the woods. There are a couple of trails with different color signs but all are very easy. Good for family.

Look out for a garage for petrol. People and views are unmatchable. A good stop over for travelling to Oban and Ben Nevis and the highlands. Great fishing

Can't believe I pass through Glencoe several times a year but have never stopped before. The loch an is truly beautiful but would imagine come the summer it will be rather busy. The basic walk round is an all abilities path so suitable for wheel chairs and push chairs. It really is worth taking a little time out to walk... More

A good place for a hike with a family. There are three trails you can take and they differ in difficulty. The easiest one one perfect for toddlers - walking or in carriers (or on scooters :). The landscape around the lochan is great, many spots for photo opps and plenty of space for kids to run around. In bad... More

We have been to Glencoe Lochan a number of times over the last ten years and it always gives this feeling of peace and tranquillity. The path around it is wheelchair friendly and the views are stunning in every direction.

By far one of the most beautiful places to go for a walk - take a flask of hot choc and sit and watch! Oh and don't forget your camera!
