They are sandy and surfy; a castle at one end and a fisherman's bay with a real smugglers' cave at the other end. Too big to EVER get crowded.

I visit here regularly with the dogs, and the beach is always clean. Only downfall, the council have started a pay and display for the beached area which always used to be free.

Couldn't fault the beaches here at Tynemouth they are so clean. Sat watching the surfers for a while then popped into Crusoe's Cafe for a nice cup of tea. Later we visited the Park across the road as some men were sailing some radio controlled boats and the water there was full of ducks and swans. The Cafe there did... More

Great for surfers and families alike. Beautiful fine sandy beach with loads of space. Cannot guarantee the weather!!

Endless clean and quiet beaches with fabulous views of castle and abbey - delicious crab and kipper to be had at Craster

This is a beautiful place to walk. Long sands beach is very clean, very popular with surfers. Great view of the priory. Excellent pubs nearby. Flea market on at the locat Metro station at a weekend. well this is a wonderful place to visit on a lovely summers day, the sun shining, the sea glistening, and the sand between your toes..luxury at Tynemouth. Or what better way to cure that hangover head,get yourself down to Tynemouth and let the cold North Sea winds blow away those cobwebs...a real hangover cure for sure.
