The history of the bog is fascinating. We brought foreign visitors to it. I love all their conservation work. As presents I have bought symbolic pieces of bog. The certificate is classy. The recipients were delghted and amused. Some people are hard to buy for so the bog certs were very acceptable and the money goes to help bog conservation.

If you are traveling to Ireland and are at all interested in the landscape, history or culture then this is a perfect place to visit. The Nature Center is appropriate for all ages and levels of knowledge about Earth systems. It also, research station that houses graduate students and scientists conducting studies on bogs, which means there is a lot to... More

The guide was very enthusiastic and made the most of the area we visited, even having us jump up and down to... More

As I'm born and reared in the midlands, and familiar with bogs, I loved this centre, it's also great for those how have no clue, like my American cousin!

The Bog of Allen nature centre at Lullymore is run by very knowledgable and passionate people involved in preserving flora and fauna of the disappearing peatlands of Ireland. Kate gave us a very enthusiastic insight into the educational work they are doing, and conservation aims and we spent a couple of very interesting hours at their exhibition centre, rounded off... As a tour guide I visited for the first time recently. The place has an identity crisis. Is it the Bog of Allen Centre, Lullymore Bog or the IPCC Centre. Whichever it is, it took me time to find it, both online and on a map. Access by any road is difficult, but thats the way of Irish Bog Roads.... More
