If you have ever seen those pictures of people riding horses on the beach with beautiful water, then this is exactly the experience you are looking for. The owners are delightful. "Nano" and his American wife Carrie are absolutely wonderful and great with adults and kids alike. The horses are gentle but also fun for experienced riders if you want... More

These horses seem well cared for and well trained. I enjoyed the spectacular scenery and thought the price was fair ($50 per person for three people). I would like to have learned something about the area and especially would have appreciated riding tips to canter or gallop, but I don't speak Spanish and our friendly guide didn't speak English. In... More

Absolutely loved my tour with Playa Ponies..trotted along the beach, through the jungle and up the hills. Great guide, great horses. A must-do in Nosara.

While we did not see any wildlife besides the abundant vulchures, Nano was great at pointing out the beauty of the area. Carrie arranged to have transportation to and from the stables.

Eder and Carrie have a great family business in Playa Ponies. I'd always wanted to ride a horse along the surf at sunset, and Eder made it happen. Having read all the reviews on this site, I was excited at the prospect of getting to canter or gallop along the beach. Eder was wonderful about facilitating, even though my boyfriend's... More

We had a lovely ride through the jungles and along the beach. The guides were personable, pointed out items of intereststopped and dismounted to show a good view. The stable was clean and tidy. The horses and tack were well cared for which is important to me as a "horse" person. Even had a trio of dogs along for the... More

Our group of five went on an amazingly carefree ride in the mid afternoon with their owner for 2 1/2 hours. She lead us through forested trails, to the beach and her neighborhood. She was very informative, describing the forested area - including a mangrove, landmark ruins of an old hotel, monkeys, and some even saw a rare bird! We... More

Beautiful horses, very kind and patient riders. Avoid the white horse, it is uncontrollable. The sunset was outstanding, make sure you get back to the corral right after as it goes pitch black at the beach.

Thank you to the trip advisor community for recommending Playa Ponies. We took a trip with them, and it was the highlight of our trip! My kids had never ridden a horse before, and my wife was apprehensive. But the horses were calm and responsive, Heidi was a perfect tour guide, and the trip was great. We started in the... More

We've been coming to Nosara for more 20 years and love horseback riding along the back. Carrie has the best horses and takes great care of them. We ride with her every time we are in town.
