I had private lessons with Zuly and Marco. Both were able to pick up my common mistakes and tailor the classes for me. I just wish I had more time there before going off to explore the country!

My wife and I planned to join this school based on recommendations from other travelers. As older students, we were a bit apprehensive of what to expect. What a great choice! We signed up for 2 weeks, separated by a week. Gerardo took the 1st week and adjusted his teaching to our very limited Spanish. His ability to switch between... More

I went here on a whim while traveling through Nosara. I ended up enrolling for 2 weeks and it was the best decision I made! The class was taught in an "immersion" style, although the teacher spoke excellent English as well. I couldn't believe how fast I learned! I didn't know a word when I got here, and when I... More

I took a week-long intensive Spanish course (4 hours/day) in April 2013. It was an exceptional learning experience, reminiscent of my most interesting university courses, and my Spanish improved markedly. Marco was a fantastic teacher: he is very knowledgeable about language and has an effective pedagogical approach tailored to the student's learning style and needs. Marco Johanning, the founder, is... More

My cousin and I took classes for a week during our vacation. We learned so much and had a lot of fun while doing so! It was a great experience and great value! Would recommend it to anyone visiting Nosara!

I have taken 5 semesters of spanish at different community colleges and also worked with 4 different teachers in a private school so I think I am qualified to state that the instruction here is first rate. My instructor was Zully who had 27 years of experience. My friend also took classes and we got a chance to meet all... More

The Nosara Spanish Institute was everything I needed and wanted out of a Spanish language school. Great teachers, atmosphere and service. They are very connected to the local community and offer a truly authentic experience. My family homestay was a great addition to an already great experience. They also offered cool outings in and around the area. I highly recommend... More

I highly recommend The Nosara Spanish Institute! I've wanted to do a Spanish immersion program for many years, and this was exactly what I was hoping for. I did a two week session, four hours a day, with the homestay option. My beautiful instructor Silvia was the best!! She's fluent in Spanish, English, German and Italian, but most of all,... More
