The trip is amazing and a must do if you are in the area. The volcanic landscape and the history there is both amazing and interesting for all ages. The tour guide was also well informed about the island and kept everyone entertained. The staff encouraged everyone to mingle on the trip to and from the island to ensure no... More

We took the boat trip to White Island and couldn't have loved it more. While the boat ride is quite long, its beautiful and you see dolphins and flying fish and sharks! The weather was gorgeous which didn't hurt either. Staff are helpful and friendly and very informative. The hike around the island was amazing. They provide lollies to help... More

We went to White Island as part of a school trip, so the price was discounted and represented great value for money. On the way out, the boat trip was a little bit rough and although my son and I were fine, others felt queasy. If you are prone to seasickness, it is best to take some preventative medicine. It... I did a lot of research for this trip and found it hard to believe that the reviews were true. Walk on an active volcano? Right up the crater? I didn't believe it, but I sure wanted to go. I had a lot of safety concerns but the trip was run completely safely. Getting in and out of the small... More

After our trip was cancelled, we were so disappointed. BUT when it was on the next day, we were thrilled and the trip was incredible. The guides were very helpful and informative. The boat ride was great and we were one of the rare lucky groups that got to climb over a bunch of large boulders -- which only added... More

We really enjoyed this trip. It was a very unique experience, you were well looked after by the staff and walking around the island was a once in a lifetime encounter. The boat trip there and back was cool as we saw loads of dolphins and even a shark. The lunch they provided was also very tasty and filling. I... More

One word - acrid! You need to be ready for the sudden wind shift - you'll want to put the complimentary gas mask on pronto! It was really interesting - perfect landscape for science fiction movies. Interesting colours (yellow sulphur, pink iron). The abandoned sulphur mine is also very interesting. Only thing that could have made it better would have... More

It was a wonderful tour, we went as part of a group and because we were locals and we had a group of more than 10 we got discounts. The ocean and the weather were idyllic and the boat and voyage out to the island were wonderful with comfy seating in the cabin and an upper viewing area with seating... More

At first, we were slightly reserved about doing this tour due to the cost and cutting into our holiday budget - however, after a recommendation by a friendly fisherman at Waihi Beach, we found ourselves booking, and what an amazing experience it was! We arrived early to the tour office and booked in before having a coffee and some breakfast... More

Excellent tour. When the boat arrived at the island we were taken off in small groups, given gas masks, then visited the various view points and types of thermal activity. There is a lot of sulphur on the island and lots of beautiful colour in the rocks. We were also given some boiled lollies to help us breathe better and... More
