Description: Release the child within and experience New Zealand's quirkiest theme...
Release the child within and experience New Zealand's quirkiest theme park. Voted by AA Tourism as a must-do Kiwi experience The Waterworks is a theme park with a difference. Set in 5 acres of native Coromandel Bush and just 10 minutes from Coromandel Town is an array of water powered inventions, quirky contraptions and fun to discover at every turn. Inspired by the ability to create something new out of something old our attractions are made largely from recycled materials and are powered by water. Water is used to keep time on the wooden water clock; watch out though it often works on Coromandel time. We've got water cannons to blast away on and bikes that pump H2O. Our human sized hamster wheel is an absolute hoot and our mad inventions leave people wondering "what the".As well as the 70+ attractions to look at, play on, or interact with, The Waterworks has a generous adventure playground area perfect for picnics, an onsite café, free use of BBQs and a natural swimming hole to cool off in during the hot summer months.

Great family attraction or just as a couple.

Loved the whole Coromandel but this place and the wild but friendly pigs on the 309 road was something not normally seen every day. Awesome.

This park is awesome! I went with my friends from uni (we are all in our early 20s) and it was like we all became kids again. We all had a great time and spent hours playing in the park, even though it was raining. Then we stopped by the cafe for hot chocolate and toasties. The park is the... More

It is like no other park I have ever been to before, a definite must do in New Zealand. All of the attractions are hand made from recycled materials. There are hilarious and witty things to read, fun games to play, and attractions to try throughout the park. We went on a rainy day and still had a blast. The... More

Interesting creativity of things to use to drive or pump water, funny bill boards and fact boards around, cool play areas with water guns.

Lots of fun things to see and read. I don't recommend doing either of the zip lines, however....very rough and dangerous landing.

What a place! Crazy water based inventions with both an educational and heart warming feel to them! My wife and I (30years old and 29 years old- no kids!) felt like teenagers again running ahead of one another trying to spray water over the other before we got had ourselves! We spent the entire 3 hours of our visit laughing... More

So everyone who heard we are going to the coromandel peninsula recommended we pay a visit to this place. We have young children aged 3 and 1, and we all had a great time there. I believe we spent about 4 hours easily... The owners are very nice and the place is amusing in other levels. The enterance is $30... More

Pretty unique place. The water creations were interesting and fun to play with. The boards were enlightening and funny and the playground equipment challenging (and perhaps a bit dangerous!). A little expensive (like most NZ attractions) but enjoyable.

This is an incredible place- my son, two small grandsons and I visited with the intention of spending half a day there, and ended up staying all day because we loved it so much! The imagination and creativity which has gone in to the variety of sources of entertainment is remarkable. Don't be put off by a somewhat unimpressive exterior-... More
