Description: Release the child within and experience New Zealand's quirkiest theme...
Release the child within and experience New Zealand's quirkiest theme park. Voted by AA Tourism as a must-do Kiwi experience The Waterworks is a theme park with a difference. Set in 5 acres of native Coromandel Bush and just 10 minutes from Coromandel Town is an array of water powered inventions, quirky contraptions and fun to discover at every turn. Inspired by the ability to create something new out of something old our attractions are made largely from recycled materials and are powered by water. Water is used to keep time on the wooden water clock; watch out though it often works on Coromandel time. We've got water cannons to blast away on and bikes that pump H2O. Our human sized hamster wheel is an absolute hoot and our mad inventions leave people wondering "what the".As well as the 70+ attractions to look at, play on, or interact with, The Waterworks has a generous adventure playground area perfect for picnics, an onsite café, free use of BBQs and a natural swimming hole to cool off in during the hot summer months.

Wow. We just spent the day at Waterworks and it was amazing! Our 2 kids had a great time on all the rides, while we loved seeing all the contraptions, and enjoying some simple but delicious food. This really has been a major highlight on our holiday. If you are ever on the North island, your trip will not be... More

This was our 2nd visit having visited in 2012 & it was just as good. My 2 girls (6&9) loved it, we had a great day out & there's so much to do. Take a picnic as they have lovely grounds at the park to sit in & the kids can just run around & play. Lots of interesting things... More

Was a bit hesitant to visit when I saw the prices online, as $70 for a family seemed expensive for what it was, but we did anyway and had a great time. Be prepared to get a bit wet and take your own snacks and drinks - especially if you have kids. Only let down were a few of the... More

Our family spent the morning at the Waterworks. We were a big family group of roughly 20 of us family visiting from around New Zealand. When we first arrived we didn't have the best cutover service which was disappointing as we looked at prices the night before and on the website it said groups of 15 or more people there... More

My wife & I took 9 and 11 year old boys. Spent about 3 hours there on a warm easter weekend. We all loved it. Everyone there was having a great time and it was as much fun watching other people having fun, particularly 60 year olds acting like little children! Food at café was good value and quality. Thoroughly... More

Nice little place. Interesting for all ages. Worth a visit if your up here. Nothing to dislike. We spent a couple of hours wandering around and acting like kids on the Bicycle and found ourselves giggling at the little funny 's on the boards.

A creative modern water based art gallery - if there isn't such a concept, well, now there is. Several interactive displays based on water movement. Educational, original, unique. And fun. The guys who put this small park together deserve praise for their vision.

This was a fun place to visit, just wished I'd bought the kids along! Lots of cool interactive water machines and gadgets to look at. Some things are getting a bit tired and weren't working but most things were great! Different and fun place.. would reccommend

Loved the whole Coromandel but this place and the wild but friendly pigs on the 309 road was something not normally seen every day. Awesome.
