Minsmere is a great place to discover nature. The RSPB shop, cafe and visitor centre provide a perfect introduction before you explore the beautiful countryside walks. Enjoy stunning woodland, wetland and coastal scenery and close views of a wide range of wildlife, including many rare species. Families can begin their journey of discovery in the Wild Zone, or build a den in the Wildwood Adventure. The nearby Discovery Centre is perfect for school visits, birthday parties and exhibitions. Self-guided activities include a free explorer backpack to borrow, and there's a regular programme of events in school holidays. Seasonal wildlife highlights include: spring birdsong, nightingales and booming bitterns and nesting avocets; summer butterflies, flowers and nesting terns; autumn migrants, red deer rut and colour; winter ducks, evening roosts of birds and Christmas shopping. Volunteer guides are often available to help you identify Minsmere's varied wildlife.

Visited today with my husband and despite a cold day we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The staff were very helpful, the food in the cafe was homemade and very good. Great layout of walks, hides snug with excellent views. Ideal place to take children to learn about nature. We are really looking forward to visiting again in the warmer weather. Bird... More

We visited during a wet and wintry January afternoon and found the enthusiasm of the staff greeting visitors to be infectious - we aren't bird watchers normally, but we really enjoyed the camaraderie of other watchers and sharing information and tips about the birds people had spotted. We saw otters and a bittern as well as a huge variety of... More

Whatever time of year I have always enjoyed a visit. It is an excellent place for me to practice my photography. The bird watchers are helpful. The staff are friendly and ready to recommend routes. The beach is a short walk if you don't fancy the woodland. They have really expanded the reserve to run even more activities. I can't... More

Minsmere is a beautiful place to spend a day in any season. there is a lot to see and the scenery is lovely. We were lucky enough to see a murmur action - masses of starlings flying together, swirling through the sky and making interesting patterns while they find the perfect place to land for the night. It was truly... More

We spent a wonderful day here. Great birds everywhere including close up kingfisher. Not enough time to do everything in November and we know that if we could return tomorrow, all would be different but just as good. The cafe did good coffee and home made food the was well priced and very good. A rough sea on the beach... More
