We walked over here from dunwich Heath, and stumbled across the owl pellet dissection in the discovery centre by accident! Left about 2 hours later having had the most fascinating time! Staff (volunteers) had the balance between giving kids info and leaving them to their own devices absolutely right. My daughters (and me and hubby) were fascinated to find so... More

I had a brilliant day. Always wanted to come here but then after seeing it on Springwatch this year I was more determined. We arrived as it opened at 9.30am and left about 4.30pm!! Went around both of the longer walking tracks and returned to the Bittern Hide to sit and wait for a good spot. We had a close... More

Love coming here. Usually visit for a day in October. My wife wanted to visit each day. She saw her first bittern on Tuesday, then 2 more on our last day. Good facilities on site, ample parking and lots for the family.

The staff at Minsmere are, without exception, helpful and informative, doing as much as possible to make the visit enjoyable. The site is magnificent, with hides at regular intervals. Great care has obviously gone into the reserve and, as result, visitors are rewarded with sightings of birds they would not normally see: we saw a spoonbill, a bittern and marsh... More

Very enjoyable experience for young and old. On our visit in the Discovery Centre birds were being ringed and youngsters given the opportunity to hold the birds before they flew off. Lots of excellent walks through marshes and on the beach. hides strategically placed allowing excellent viewing opportunities. All staff at the reserve without exception were very helpful and very... Lovely, varied walk, with hides placed at strategic points. Only saw water birds because of time of year, but saw deer and slow worms.

Visited here with a group of friends and to be honest bearing in mind the time of year did not expect to see too much but despite this saw the Sand Martins making their frequent visits to their chicks and beautiful butterflies, as well as the Highland cattle. We were blessed with a beautiful day with sunshine. We walked many... More
