I visited the zoo briefly (I only had an hour to walk around) and it was a nice enough visit. There seemed to be lots of fun play areas for kids, so I could definitely see children enjoying a visit. If you happen to be in Rhenen without children and are just looking for a nice place to talk a... More

One of the best zoo's in the Netherlands, in my opinion. Especially for those who like bears. I liked a lot their new project, the Bears Forest, where you walk in a big woods with a lot of bears (and few wolves) around you. Also the woody nature around the park is very beautiful.

The location self is in a beautiful woody area with big parking place. This zoo has various animals, big and small. It's famous with the "Beren Bos" (Bear's wood) where the most bears are rescued from the east european countries or the dancing bear of Turkey. A lot of playgrounds at different places for the children so they have enough... More

My wife and I stopped at this zoo on a Sunday as we traveled from Germany to the Netherlands. They have a decent range of animals to see, but what stood out to me was all the activity areas it had for kids, from slides and large jungle gyms to water rafts and a small kid sized zip line. Many... More

This zoo has all you need, animals with good conditions, shows, food, everything. If you plan on staying longer in the area get the year pass, its well worth it. Good parking on both sides.

We visited this zoo before and we were very surprised how many areas have been renovated or improved since our last visit. They built a brand new Gorilla house, better say mansion. The area where the rescued bears live together with wolves has been improved as well. We some new animals (eg Wooled pigs) and they have made some extra... More

We went here on a Saturday, around 11'sh and left just before five. We went here because the weather was kind of so-so, but because they have a quite large indoor play area, the worst that could happen was that we would leave after a couple of hours, having seen few animals, but with the kids having had fun anyway.... We visited this zoo with friends, so whiteout children. This zoo is definitely worth a visit and there is giant playing area for children that looks fantastic. The highlights are the white lions and white tigers, the bear forrest and the polar bears. It's an old zoo and there are renovations going on but for now we think there are... More

Ouwehands is a 80 year old Zoo. All the animals are visable up close. The very old parts of the Zoo have been renovated the last few years and are adjusted to the animal needs more than use to be. We specially like the "berenbos" of bearsforest which has a board walk above bears and wolves. The bears are all... More

The old pair of white lions had been moved to another Zoo and in their place came four white lion cubs!.. only a few months old.. so funny they were still very playfull and running after everything that moved... for a...
