Lovely little beach

Really over crowded in August but lovely the rest of the year, white sand and blue sea. In the summer there is always an open "chiringito" to have a drink or something to eat.

Areas is a micro-town adjacent to the town of Sanxenxo, Spain. I come here every summer and am NEVER disappointed! It is gorgeous, the people are amazing, and the food is delicious. Even the beach is well serviced with tasteful hotels and restaurants.

Sanxenxo is a beautiful town that reminds you of famous resorts in Southern Spain and France. There is a casual elegance and high end atmosphere which only special places have. It has a beautiful beach and across from it a very extensive selection of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. We were there in mid-September so the tourist season was over but... More

We drove from the Picos to Galicia and stayed for about a week in San Xenxo. It is very easy driving in this Province in differing landscapes. We liked Cambados, a pleasant and smallish village by the sea. It has a truly grand plaza. Somehow, by accident perhaps, we eventually found ourselves driving down to the seaside resort of San... There are showers by the entrance paths. The sand is clean and nice laying on. The water here in summer is not that cold, good for even long swimming, you don't need to walk much to have neck water level.

Lovely safe beach, can get a bit busy in August (although still quiet when compared to the Med). There are a couple of nice bars along the beach where you can eat.

Sanxenxo out of season is tranquil, peaceful and has a quietness that often eludes Spain. We stayed in a small namely between sanxenxo and com barro. Our view was of the river estuary and all around are tiny beaches and woodland and lush greenery. From our balcony we saw dolphins playing in the estuary, diving in and out of the... More
