We visited here in September 2014 and had a brilliant time. We visited a couple of years ago and it has changed since then. They have done a bit more with the museum side of it (pirate museum) but to be honest, they didn't need to do anything. The castle sells itself with it's fantastic views of the Island and... More

We arrived too late to go inside (closed at 4pm) but there are great views of Teguise and the surrounding countryside from around the Castle. If you have a hire car and are going in that direction it is worth a slight detour. There is a pirate museum inside but I'm not able to comment on it as we didn't... More

Nice old fort. I really like places like that. The view from the top is amazing - you could walk around the volcano and see great part of Lanzarote (well if there are no clouds or haze)

What's a pirate"s favourite type of humour? Saaaaarrrrkasm! The best thing about this castle is the views of the totem below. Unfortunately, the castle has been over-restored. The exhibition is interesting for a short while.

Been there today and was a real change from the crush of the sunday market, views are fabulous and the fort is built on the side of a volcano that you can go into the middle of (no charge). The displays are in both Spanish and English and quite informative. If you go early you have the place to yourself... More

Worth the drive to the top and indeed back down! Fabulous views, great history and a jewel in the history of Tequise.

Castle has been recently renovated then someone thought given the history of the castle and the area it would be good to set it up as a Pirates exhibition.. kind of well done and the kids we saw there seemed to like it. As a grown up you won't get much out of it. Views from roof are good but... More

It seems that one minute you see it, the next you don't. From a distance, it doesn't look that impressive and as you drive up the easy, winding and not too steep road to it you think that it's not actually very high. It's only when you do reach it that you realise you are quite high up on the... More

We haven't been in the Castle, but we walked all around the edge of the extinct volcano it is perched on. Fab views across the Island. Lots of wild flowers and insects up there too, and of course, interesting geology. Well worth a visit if you don't mind heights.

Thank goodness this museum is only €3 to get in or this would be a completely different review! Very small museum, no historical artifacts at all. You can walk round the whole thing in 30 minutes. Amazing views from the top.
