Large beaches with rock formations. Excellent views from terraces. Interesting place to visit. We do so already during many years. There are various apartment buildings available.

The first place I have visited in Portugal and it is so beautiful that it takes your breath away. Praia da Rocha/Tres Castelos and Praia do Amado, are among the best beaches you can find on Algarve - awesome experience.

Praia de Rocha is a friendly place and the Portuguese are great people. The Beach goes on forever, and even at it's busiest is never crowded. Everything about it makes for a relaxing holiday. For shopping, Portimao town is less than 10 minutes in a cab for less than 10.00 Euro. Great variety of restaurants from fish and chips to... More

Great looking wide beach with many special shaped rocks - when low tide you can walk around and under them. Then town Praia da Rocha is a typical tourist so with many restaurants, hotels and bars, and in the summertime, everything is up and running, but go back around late november, and it's close to deserted. Shops closed and less... More

Tried 5 different restaurants and quality of food was poor. Have to travel to Alvor for something decent and I'm not a fussy eater. poor evening entertainment, nothing there. Day entertainment quite good as long as spend a bit of money on travel Beach views are decent and has laid back atmosphere.

Portimão is a lovely place that was "ruined by wild construction". Nevertheless, Praia da Rocha and Praia do Alvor, are among the best beaches you can find on Algarve, specially during August, since are the most spacious beaches you can find (in August, if you go by car, you have to go before, the latest, 9h30 am...if not, leave your... Praia da Rocha is a compact resort around one long main street with the big town of Portimao behind it. I love the huge beach, the boardwalk, and No Solo Agua down at the end. A casino, lots of restaurants and plenty of Irish bars. Portuguese come out in force at the weekends
