Praia Da Rocha is a little like a Tale of Two Cities in so far as it has two very different ends! As you enter the main street it is full of souvenir shops....almost kiss-me-quick hats and candy floss!....but, as you travel down it becomes completely different and in the middle is the hotel we chose Hotel Oriental....a VERY peaceful... Perfect location with restaurants, mariner, and beach all within minutes from this hotel. Would definitely come back with my 6 month old daughter.

6 years since our last visit and it was noticeably more quiet. Discos less noisily and definitely fewer tourists. However, I didn't see any refuse and the beach was spotless and obviously well maintained. There are plenty of hotels and restaurants in this town and was quiet most of the time. Very relaxing.

This truly was my favourite beach on the Algarve. Unlike all other beaches this one has rocks on the beach which you can either walk around when the tide is out or walk through the rocks when the tide is in or out.

Praia Da Rocha is beautiful the end of this year 2015...we walked from the Fort to the rocky outcrop and watched the sun go down in glorious links and purples. It is always good to stick my very in the Atlantic and today was no different. And if you don't like sand you can walk the length on the boardwalk...... More

Amazing place, lovely beach, fantastic broadwalk with many shops, restaurants and pubs- especially those on seafront. Would love to come back there in summer time!

Lovely sandy beach, great place for a walk, wooden walkways were great to access the beach with a stroller. In December most of the restaurants were closed so can't say anything about the food. Be aware though that there are only steps to get back on promenade so lifting a stroller up the stairs was quite a challange ;)

Lovely big clean beach. To get to the beach is mainly by long steps down which means in many places it's hard to get back up. Lots of food restaurants alone beach when you get down to it. Surprised at the amount of bars and restaurants open at this time of year for the amount of people around. Not a... More
