It 'a great starting point to exploring the cliffs both above and down along the rocky/pebble coast. Parking car costs 1.5 € per hour, the bus to get close the cliffs costs 3.20 € go and back. Otherwies walking through the forest for about 4 km

We drove to Hagen and parked the car. Walked about 2 miles to the entrance to kings stool but the cost to go in too much. At this point we had enjoyed the lovely natural areas and got the bus back to our car. We then drive through the park stopping off to enjoy cobbled street villages with thatched cottages... More

Jasmund Park has become one of my favorite adventures in Germany. Along the 11 km coastline it has a wonderful view of both the cliffs and the ocean, and the trails are a great trail through the forest. If you want, you can also start in a parking lot and hike 3 km directly into Konigstuhl. You will probably have... More

The nature preserve deserves its excellent reputation--do plan a few hours to walk in this beautiful setting.

The national park a great place to discover on foot or by bike. The Hagen visitor centre hires bikes for 5 euros a day. Hertha lake and the sacrificial stones, the woodlands and the cliffs make it a magical place to visit

A guided walk through the ancient beech forests offers a real insight into this unique ecosystem. Free regular tours are held between May and October and you can just turn up (book ahead off-season). Check out dates, times and locations on the official park website: http://www.nationalpark-jasmund.de/index.php?article_id=40 We were lucky to catch the last regular tour of 2012 from the park... When you go to Ruegen this is a very important area to see. The museum is very interesting with history and films where one can spend a few hours. The view from the top of the cliffs is breathtaking so it's a good idea to go when the weather is photogenic!

This national park is a must when you have time to visit something on Rügen. It is by far better than the boring Cap Arcona and it has a well organized and executed museum with a nice inter active exhibition. Close to the museum or visiting center you can go down to the beach (more than 400 stairs!) and see... More
