Just an update to my old review, as it can't be updated in TA. Gunvor has since retired from Chateau Margaux, and the visitor reception facilities have been completely renovated. I don't personally like the new reception room, which is more like a museum room and does not have the "homey" charm of the old room (which has now been... More

We where a group of friends being lucky enough to be accepted to come here for a visit. The girl taking care of us was really kind and knowledgeable. The tour was about an hour an we got to experience the production room, wine cellar and got to taste Pavillion Rouge 2004. This was really a once in a lifetime... More

As a wine writer and visiting Bordeaux since 1984, I have deep insight in this property as I have visited it 30+ times already. In June this year, new buildings and new cellar, tasting room, etc. were revealed. If you know an important wine merchant in your country, ask him/her to organize a tour around and also tasting if possible.... More

A terrific hostess takes you around to see all. Learn about wine making on a different level. Taste the wine. Beautiful structures to see. Ask about the history, optical sorting, and barrels.

I love to drink Chateau Margaux and made it one of the "visit the wines you drink and love" tours. While I can list many memorable visits at other Chateaux, this was not worth the time. Quick walk around from a disinterested tour guide, perhaps she was just having an off day- I say skip this one.

It is a beautiful chateau and great wine but they have lost touch with reality. I requested a visit with a tasting but was told they only set up such tours for professionals. They provide no tastings to the common people but do offer a cellar tour where you can see the barrels and watch the professionals drinking wine through... More

We met our guide at L'orangerie where she gave us an overview of the property and its history. We walked to the barrel cellar where they were checking levels and toppling off the barrels. Actually seeing part of the lifecycle of the wine process was very special. They are renovating and building a new cellar so we then walked to... More

We were only able to do a drive by since Chateau was closed the Sunday we visited in September. But it was even enough for those who are wine lovers to immerse oneself in their vineyards, and take a picture of this iconic winery producing wines meant to be cellared, then drunk for special occasions. We did stop at two... More

We liked the little path to the entrance and the beautiful building. We really wanted to have a tour but this was not possible...

beautiful facility. This is expensive wine, but you see why when you visit the Chateau. Excellent experience, highly recommend.
