Interesting abbey

It's a nice place to walk in the garden and visit the old church. There is a small café and you can visit a brewery (not allways open!)

When you are in the area of Aubel you should really visit Val-Dieu Abbey and it's surroundings (the brewery and park). In the park you can find 18 different kinds of trees and it is a beautiful area to walk around. At the abbey there is also a cafe restaurant where you can taste the famous Val Dieu beer (... More

We only stopped over at the abbey during a long bike trip for a bite to eat and a drink,so didn't visit the abbey. On the outside it looked great though. The restaurant le casse-croute is a self service restaurant so on a beatifull day you need to queue to order food and drinks.Restaurant staff is very friendly. Hot food... More

Our dad was stationed at this Abbey during the Battle of the Bulge in WWII. The staff was so accommodating to take time to show us around and especially the places where we had photographs of Dad during his stay 70 years ago!

So after living in Germany for about a year and a half, Val-Dieu Abbey is by far the place I've visited most. Most often I go here to stock up on my favorite Belgian beers, from Val-Dieu. All four of the standard beers are delicious, from Blonde, Brune, Triple and Grand Cru. I highly recommend them all. Their Noel beer... More

I've visited the Val Dieu Abbey a number of times over the past ten years, and it never fails to please me. Well off the beaten track, close to the borders of Belgium, Holland & Germany, this oasis attracts visitors from all over. Food at the cafe attached to the Abbey Cafe is basic but satisfying, whilst top class cuisine... More
