Visited Bovington in May 2014 and well worth the time and effort. Lots of armoured vehicles of various vintages, easy to follow displays and a bunch of really knowledgeable staff, in particular in the vehicle conservation centre which I thoroughly recommend visiting during the times it's open. I particularly enjoyed the Horses at War display as well as the Tank... More

My partner had visited this museum a number of times but this time was a real bonus. There were quite a few operational tanks rumbling around the grounds and in the fields in training. I was surprised how big they were and noisy and could imagine how frightened people would be in war time to hear them coming across a... More

I Visited the tank museum today with my wife, we both thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, the museum was very interesting and the colleagues were very helpful. I have never seen a tank up close and the array of different tanks and other vehicles as well as the other exhibits made the whole experience really interesting and would recommend to... More

Had the misfortune to visit on the same day as the various mayors of Dorset. No staff available to help and those who were available were preoccupied with the VIPs . Made to feel unwelcome & a bother . The tank display isn't worth waiting around for as mainly armoured vehicles . The staff are aggressive after the display about... More

As well as a comprehensive collection of tanks there are First World War trench displays that help convey the terrible conditions soldiers worked and lived in during those times. Since our last visit there has been a display added showing the contribution horses made to the war effort and the price they paid. The Afghanistan display is also new and... More

Great day out, very informative with films to watch explaining the development and use of tanks. The kids were able to go inside a tank and there were many displays to explain the impact of war on families and loved ones. Great cafe and not overpriced and your ticket allows you to go back within 12 months. Highly recommended -... More

If someone else was going to put together a tank museum, it's hard to imagine it being better than this one. The building is bright and modern, there are absolutely loads of tanks, the displays are interesting and informative and the afternoon tank display outside helps bring the whole thing together. The tour through the trenches exhibit was excellent and... More

Visited here with my family ranging from 1 - 71 and we all had a thoroughly good time. The trenches were so humbling and made us all feel very lucky to have the life in which we have now. Having a veteran soldier with us was a bonus as he could inform us of the conditions in Afghanistan that we're... More

I went along with my husband expecting just to tag along and be bored to tears. I couldn't have been more wrong , it was so interesting. Yes there are a lot of tanks but it isn't a case of ' when you've seen one , you've seen them all '. Some have stories attached to them. There are also... More

we visited with friends and found it very interesting. the staff are friendly and informative. The tank display in the arena was excellent. It was a beautiful sunny day which helped as we could sit on the grass to watch the display. A ride in one of the personel carriers was very bumpy but good fun. A good day out... More
