My husband and I visited this place some 10 years ago and it was interesting to see how much things have changed. The museum is a modern building housing tanks from WW1 upto modern day vehicles from all around the world. We learnt many interesting facts about the history of tanks and how they were built. You will find yourself... More

Don't mind admitting I was like a big kid, every kind of tank and armored vehicle and great displays. Well worth a visit.

I previously visited about 20 years ago and couldn't have been more amazed by what a transformation it has gone through. A fantastic collection, site and displays and all for a very reasonable entrance fee (a pleasant surprise now days). If I had a criticism (a small one) it was the café - quite slow and would work better with... More

We hit a day when the modellers were holding their show so the place was crowded. This was a detractor for us. Putting the sheer numbers of people aside, the collection of tanks is impressive, and the signage is good. Instead of thinking, "Oh, no, another tank..." the interpretation on each made the differences clear and in understandable language. There... More

By any measure, the Tank Museum at Bovington is World class. Not only does it hold the World's biggest and most important collection of tanks and armoured vehicles, but it does so in the place that justifiably claims to be the birthplace of the tank. This is a place that works on many levels. As a museum, it holds a... More

We went to the Tank Museum to do some research on one of the men on our village war memorial, who took part in the first ever tank battle, in 1916. I'd booked ahead and two huge boxes of information awaited us in the archives library. I'm glad we made some time to visit the museum too, since it was... More

I went to the museum with my dad son and grand daughter and I can say that we all had a great day. The only thing I can say negative about the place was that I wish I had taken good as the restaurant was expensive and food was very bland. But still a very enjoyable day out

Staff great and the talks are very interesting. I honestly never realized there were so many different tanks in the world. I'm sure an enthusiast would spend all day there. Also a little Tea room/cafe. Impressed!

I went with friends who went about 10 years ago and it has changed a lot apparently. We spent a couple of hours in the newer display area and there were lots of tanks to see from across Europe and the U.S. and a good history. We then moved on to the trenches section and the history of the development... More
