The drive to Lake Tekapo has a magical feeling with the majestic hills covered in snow. We played in the snow, felt the snow flakes falling. Walks are provided. We thoroughly enjoyed the Hot Pools. a must to visit

Driving from Christchurch to Mt.Cook, this small village makes a refreshing stop! Stunning landscapes, a clear blue lake and quiet and serene environment makes this place a lover's paradise. You can spend hours with your feet dipped in the glacial waters of the lake and stare at the astounding scenery - just letting your thoughts travel into the abyss. The... More

The best small town with the magnificent scenery - the lake and the lupins. Best time to see the turquoise lake is Summer > Winter > Spring. Autumn is good for the yellow leaves, green mountains and blue sky. U can see the colourful lupins in late Spring until early Autumn. The poor thing is there aren't free caravan parking... More

Lake Tekapo is a beautiful community. The views are amazing. The sky is so clear and the night sky is just amazing. A real must see. The walk around the lake is so beautiful and the hot pools are so relaxing.

What's not to like? The lake has bright blue glacial water, it's surrounded by mountains (at their best when there's some snow on them, of course) and then there's the Church of the Good Shepherd as a foreground subject for those great holiday photos. The lakefront has some good sites for taking photos without any buildings, if that's your preference.... More

Relaxing self cook lunch at Lake Tekapo. A very good place for picnic, kite flying, walk your dog, Frisbee or go for a jog. The weather was really good when we went there.
