This is a lovely nature reserve, peaceful, plenty to see and with good catering facilities. There are machines selling seeds to feed the ducks who are very friendly.

An excellent day out for families and birdwatchers alike with species of wildfowl from around the world to more indigenous species being seen out on the scrapes from the many hides and woodland trails. The cafe is well stocked and offers a selection of foods and drinks. Well signposted from the main routes into Burscough, Martin Mere offers a varied... More

We went on a rainy day but despite this we all thoroughly enjoyed the variety of birds to see, the large space to wander and the general high quality. There is also a fun playground.

We visited during the February half term with 4 children aged 4, 8, 10 and 11. I have to admit upon arrival I thought I'd made a huge mistake bringing the older ones. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but when it dawned on me all there was to do was walk round in the freezing cold looking at... More
