For a course that is advertised as one of the best in Ireland, to allow play when the greens are in such an appalling condition is beyond belief. Imagine putting on Velcro ...... Absolute waste of money at 150 Euros , daylight robbery. Do not include this golf course in any itinery for an Irish golf trip . Avoid !!

We played only the 9 holes that were open during their course renovation. Took atour of the newholes - 6 right on the ocean. When this is finished, it will be one of the best courses in all of Ireland. Event playing 9, worth going to play. Top notch all the way.

We were really looking forward to playing this course as our society had played Trump in Aberdeenshire. We had been warned that when we booked that only 9 holes were available after we booked flights. We were not expecting 3 temporary greens and tees. Staff were great when we expressed disappointment with a discount and free lunch. Would like to... More

We belonged to the Kiawah Island club for 15 years and were curious about the club at Doon Beg. So when visiting friends near by we decided to drive down in the early evening. Staff were very friendly and showed us around- very nice just like the River Course and Cassique club houses including some of the exact same furniture... More

Stayed on a 2 night golf package in Oct '14. Were put up in what appeared to be satellite time share facilites despite the main lodge being minimally occupied. Additionally we were placed in one of the smaller units despite most of the larger units being unoccupied!!! Dining facility was nice but nothing special. Meals were very good as was... More

This course needs many changes and to the Donald's credit they are underway. 6 Greens & 8tees will be blown up and rebuilt this fall. The Course in it's current configuration like other Greg Norman Designs has way to severe greens and the course lacks the continuity required for a cohesive design, Wait a year before playing it. The Donald... More

Played 6 courses while in Ireland, the others being Lahinch, Ballybunion, Tralee, Waterville, Old Head. Would rank DOonbeg at the bottom of this list. Was certainly a nice course, challenging, etc., but without the history or maturity of the others and somewhat a 'manufactured' as opposed to natural course. Imagine Trump will pour money into the course and over time... More

Having first visited Doonbeg GC in 2004, and most years since, this year our party of 12 were interested to see what changes the recent change of ownership had made. The answer being that apart from the somewhat ostentatious change of name little else has changed as yet. All staff remain highly trained and extremely helpful; catering remains better than... More
