We played Doonbeg Golf Club in mid May as a two ball that teed off relatively early in the morning and were the only ones on the course for at least two hours. We really enjoyed the course and the first hole is a special opening hole (if they could only do something with the maintenance building on the right).... More

This is now Trump International Ireland. It's a 5 star resort and they'll actually use their 2 helicopters to ferry their guests from the airport to the resort. The landing pad is behind the 18th green next to the hotel. There are also villas for rent. We had some problems driving into the resort as it's on the coast and... More

On a recent holiday to Clare myself and 2 girl friends decided to treat ourselves to some spa treatments in Doonbeg. We had a lovely relaxing day and all agreed that the massages were the best that we had ever had ( and reasonable value). We will definitely come again, and stay for a longer break. One note for Spa... More

I've played a lot of links golf in Scotland and Ireland. Doonbeg is an interesting twist in that it is a bent grass course that is highly manicured. Lovely views. Great young caddie named Steven that we had. A good test of your shot making skills. I was looking forward to picking up a shirt and hat with the Doonbeg... More

Great mixture of traditional links course and american manicured golf course. Very challenging holes and excellent caddies

Views from this course are spectacular. Our caddy was great. Course was in perfect condition. Watch out for those sand traps and tall grass though!

Great spectacular location but a bit above itself. The course recently lost some holes in the storm so without a caddie it was tricky to find our way around-could use some signage Charged $40 for a golf glove. No cold water available for drinking.

I just returned from Doonbeg and had the opportunity to play with my brothers and cousins. This was my first time playing a Links course and I don't think I could have picked a better place to start. The grounds are well maintained and the staff was excellent. As previous reviewers have mentioned, they don't allow golf carts due to... More

The first hole is dramatic. The course is long and at present buggies can only be used with a Caddie.Apparently someone on another course drove over a cliff with deadly result. This seems like an over reaction to me and an extra £50 to boot. We really enjoyed the course and each time we played it took about 5 hours.

Played a round of golf today - sunshine and no wind! Very unusual for the wild Atlantic Coast of Ireland. We had an excellent soup and sandwich lunch on the terrace - good wholesome food, and very attentive and friendly waiting staff. Will definitely be back!
