I don't like Tom Brokaw but I do agree with him when he called the men and boys on these beaches as the "greatest generation." How different all of our live would be without their sacrifices. This is a very well done museum on a less than fully sophisticated scale but that is much of its charm and contribution. The... More

Lots of great artifacts that help tell the story. The beach here is not as scenic, imo, as Omaha but the many monuments around the museum are very interesting to walk through. Great display. Arrive before mid afternoon as they close early and stop letting guests in 1/2 hour before close.

The Utah Beach Museum was a great place to visit. and the exibits were really something to admire. They were informative ,and well set up to portray the events of the day. There were guides to tell the story and you couod choose your guide in either French or English. One exibit caught my eye and that was the B-26... More

This is a new museum and it is spacious and full of natural light which is most pleasant. We spent an interesting 2 hours here. We had seen plenty of other museums before - this one rates up there on the favorites list. We didn't try out the Roosefelt Restaurant, but took a picnic on the beach as the weather... More

As the museum was closed at the time of our visit, we just looked at the outside exhibits and surrounding area. Overall, I felt this area, with barbed-wire along the top of the dunes, the remains of blockhouses and gun emplacements and the various monuments gave a better feeling of how it actually looked 70 years ago than Omaha Beach.... We spent several hours here on a rainy day and really enjoyed our visit. We did not visit many D-Day museums, because we felt that once we had been here and studied every exhibit, we had covered what we wanted to cover. Great artifacts and the video interviews really set this one apart from the airborne museum in St. Mere... More

Like the aircraft and beach viewing area. Open later than most. Ice cream shop closed before museum!

This is one of the better museums along the Normandy Beaches. There is a fee for it which I think was maybe eight euros. I liked all the personal stories they had as well as the large collection of artifacts. It is well worth the time and is located right at Utah Beach. Lots of additional information I hadn't read... I loved this museum as it was interesting and filled with great items and told the story of the Utah Beach landings in fine detail. A thoroughly complete insight into life under the occupation and after the Allied invasion. Excellent exhibits and situated in a prime location. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best museum's that I have been to. All exhibits on display completely relate to the D day landings and are authentic, well done. The admission fees are very reasonable and if you are a WWII veteran it is free. Also if you are serviceman or retired serviceman they have reduced rates.
