We decided to visit the frog pond just to see the Red Eyed Tree Frog, which had eluded us so far! The young lady (Isis?) On the entrance desk was very helpful advising us that the frog would be asleep but we could have a guided tour and return at dusk (5.30-6.00pm) on same ticket when the frogs were waking... More

Yes, like others say, Go At Night. We did the 7 pm tour and we had a wonderful guide. This was scary fun for me because I am so afraid of bugs and spiders. It was really dark, the guide had the only flashlight and you can believe I was practically glued to his back walking around there because I... More

We arrived just as it started to get dark. The first couple cages we werent seeing much. As it got darker, we found more and more frogs, so we circled around and went back to places we didnt see them and found more frogs. This would be really great for young kids (5-10?). You get flashlights and have to search... More

The location is a little difficult to walk to from downtown Santa Elena, but it is worth the trip. Be sure to go after 6 pm to see the frogs in all of their night glory. A guide will take you around and explain all about the frogs. You can use your ticket to go back during the day, but... More

Eric, also known as KoKo, was an excellent guide through the butterfly habitat. He is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Our only regret is that we did not have more time to spend and visit the frogs as well.

We loved the Monteverde Frog Pond. Our guide was very knowledgeable about all of the frogs and toads and took the time to look for each one. He answered all of our questions and didn't rush us through. We took there advise to return at night which was very interesting. They give you flashlights to use and there is almost... More

Was really interesting, definitely worth stopping by over there for a bit if you are already there! also, you get one entrance during the day and one during the night... worth coming for both of them! i would recommend during the explanation part with the guide at night, after you have been there during the day on your own (more... Staff was very cheerful and supplied al ot of interesting information about the frogs ! a must if you hadn't had enough frogs already, and a nice supplementary for those who already had - would recommend not to miss. EXTRA IMPORTANT TIP : while walking around, either with a guide or without, make sure to check the floor for your... More

This really is a must see- we stopped by here twice because our tickets were good for 48 hours. Go at night, we tried it during the day and you just can't find the frogs (you need a flash light to see them and they work best at night). Have a tour guide with you, as they can find all... More
