We have got combo Butterfly garden + Frog pond for 23 dolars. It´s not definitelly worth to go there for this money. A guide was nice lady, she was trying her best but in Butterfly garden were just few kinds of butterflies and most of them looked really desperately as well as flowers around. The Frog pond was not actually... More

I did this tour with my grandparents who are in their 70s. It was very do-able. My grandfather is very tall so sometimes he had trouble squatting to see the frogs. There is not a guarantee that you are going to see frogs, because they are well camouflaged. When you buy a ticket it is good for the week! You... More

It is pretty good for what it is and the guides are knowledgable, but there's no getting around that most of what you're what you're doing is walking around looking for frogs in a couple dozen terrariums. I found it a bit expensive for that. Good for what it is, but it isn't more than it appears to be.

All kinds of frogs in large habitats. Most are nocturnal so go at night. Frogs are often small, so use a guide. They know which leaves to look under. Learned original owner has been ill and the place has declined a little.

This review is for the Frog Pond and Butterfly garden in Santa Elena aka the Monteverde Theme Park. Some of the photos on this page do not seem to match up with this location. I think there is more than one Frog Pond perhaps. This location contains twelve or so big terrariums with different species of frogs in them. A... More

We got the offer to have a guide explain things. He arrived within minutes on his bike, and was a true export on frogs: how many eggs, how the sexlife of the frog, the more extreme the statistics, the more enthusiastic he was. Nice!

It was fun and challenging to look for the frogs in the big terrariums. There are many different kinds with very interesting features and specialties. The tour guides are knowledgeable. I recommend coming back at night on the same day to check out the frogs when they're most active, especially the red-eyed tree frog, which transforms from a bland green... More

Our guide was wonderfully enthusiastic and knowledgable about the frogs on display (or hiding). The Frog Pond ticket is good for two visits so that you can go back in the early evening when the frogs are more active.

My kids love frogs, but we didn't see a single one out in the forest. So we stopped by here one evening and took the guided tour. It was a fun experience to look for the frogs in the terrariums by flashlight, and the lights helped the kids see the frogs once the guide found them. We managed to see... More

I went here because someone else in my group (we are a group of 35-40 yr olds) wanted to see the famous Costa Rica frog (Red eyed tree frog). I wasn't looking forward to it at all really. As recommended, we went around 7PM at night. It was all dark inside and we were guided around by a guide with... More
