Frog pond

Very interesting and very funny guide. We saw a lot of typical Costa Rica frogs which you normally won't see when doing an outdoor tour. Really worthwile.

This review is for the frog "pond", not the other attractions. If you already were, or are going to Arenal area then there are better frog viewing opportunities there. This was a bit of a let down. Imagine a group of eight people crowded around a glass case with only enough room for four people to stand in front of,... More

We were very disappointed by the Frog Pond. From the name, we anticipated it would be a walk through "open" habitat. Instead, all of the frogs were in various aquarium-like tanks. They were difficult to see, even with the guide and a flash light. My children who were very interested in frogs, quickly lost interest.

Very nice night experience to see several types of frogs and snakes, from the local fauna. The tour takes about an hour, and is better after dusk, when the frogs come out and can be seen.

This is a terrarium rather than an open pond as the business name suggests. It's fairly inexpensive, although you'd need to visit it in the evening to be able to see all the 24 frog/toad species they have since 90% of these are nocturnal. You can go on a tour by yourself or as part of a guided tour, which... More

I was pretty disappointed with this place. First of all it is not a frog pond. The frogs are in display cases. When I went there after I paid the 12 USD entry fee they informed me there would not be a guide as they were waiting for a bigger group. I could either wait, come back or go on... More

Interesting BUT our hotel sent us for a 4pm tour then AFTER we paid the frog pond said oh by the way 20 out of 24 of our frogs are nocturnal so you will not see much but if you want you can come back for free again at night. I had reservations that night so the offer of coming... More

Be aware it often rains here, and you will get wet going to the butterfly house or using the canopy zip lines. But the insects and frogs are all inside. I like the way they charge for each item separately, so you can just pay to see the frogs or the frogs and insects. Other places would have one big... More

you have to visit the frog park at night. That's when the frogs get active. The guide's English was pretty good. We could understand him well. It is vey interesting and should not be missed. Don't waist your time during the day. You'll see next to nothing.

We went to this sanctuary to see the frogs and were successful in finding most of them in their habitats. Guide was wonderful and really was enthusiastic about his subject. would return. Got to see tree frog up close and personal
