It was fun and challenging to look for the frogs in the big terrariums. There are many different kinds with very interesting features and specialties. The tour guides are knowledgeable. I recommend coming back at night on the same day to check out the frogs when they're most active, especially the red-eyed tree frog, which transforms from a bland green... More

Our guide was wonderfully enthusiastic and knowledgable about the frogs on display (or hiding). The Frog Pond ticket is good for two visits so that you can go back in the early evening when the frogs are more active.

My kids love frogs, but we didn't see a single one out in the forest. So we stopped by here one evening and took the guided tour. It was a fun experience to look for the frogs in the terrariums by flashlight, and the lights helped the kids see the frogs once the guide found them. We managed to see... More

I went here because someone else in my group (we are a group of 35-40 yr olds) wanted to see the famous Costa Rica frog (Red eyed tree frog). I wasn't looking forward to it at all really. As recommended, we went around 7PM at night. It was all dark inside and we were guided around by a guide with... More

I went only at the insistence of Mrs Vancouver. I'm glad we went. Entrance fee was off-putting. I thought $13 each to look at frogs? Really? It turned out to be much better than I expected. The variety of frogs was stunning compared to what I am accustomed to from North America. The colours were amazing. It was also fascinating... More

$12 to visit 12 cages with frogs a guide appeared to show us around lacking any enthusiasm - he strolled around naming the frogs and no other info - you needed steps to photograph many of them and the glass was smeared! Totally unsatisfactory - the best place for frogs is le Paz waterfalls in San Jose now they know... More

The tour was interesting and the guide took the time to make sure we see all that is to see. Also invited us to return after dark to see the frog night activities at no additional charge.

We decided to visit the frog pond just to see the Red Eyed Tree Frog, which had eluded us so far! The young lady (Isis?) On the entrance desk was very helpful advising us that the frog would be asleep but we could have a guided tour and return at dusk (5.30-6.00pm) on same ticket when the frogs were waking... More

Yes, like others say, Go At Night. We did the 7 pm tour and we had a wonderful guide. This was scary fun for me because I am so afraid of bugs and spiders. It was really dark, the guide had the only flashlight and you can believe I was practically glued to his back walking around there because I... More

We arrived just as it started to get dark. The first couple cages we werent seeing much. As it got darker, we found more and more frogs, so we circled around and went back to places we didnt see them and found more frogs. This would be really great for young kids (5-10?). You get flashlights and have to search... More
