Our garden has a large collection of orchids; we have more than 425 different species. You can find species that are endemic to Monteverde, and a collection of miniature orchids, including the smallest one in the world. We offer guided walks both in English and Spanish. Plztystele jungermannioides, the smallest Orchid in the world. Then we saw many more with gorgeous smell and colour. I was surprised to learn that most wild orchids are miniatures, at least in Costa Rica. The garden is private its owner Alvaro Salazar, a charming gentleman has been collecting orchids for over 25 years. Check it out in Lonely Planet. It... More

Amazing collection over 400 species in a tiny space. If you expect every species to have huge blooms you will be disappointed. Not a lot were in bloom while we were there, but it was amazing to see so many tiny orchids with beautiful (but small) flowers. It's easily located in the middle of town so if you have an... More

Learned that there is an orchid named Dracula that has the image of a money in the center. There were hundreds of orchids that I could never have dreamed of.

I' ve never been an Orchid fan but when i saw this garden, I said I' d give it a go. It was a super pleasant visit. The guide proved to be the owner of the place. Mind it that this is not a business, but a passion that evolved into a need of sharing this passion with others. The... More

Very interrsting and humorous lil walk around a garden in the center of monteverde. Ricardo is very knowledgeable and funny. Its worth a stop before or after lunch. We got a discount at The Orchid Cafe which is #1 in monteverde for a good reason.

We did learn a lot about orchids. Nice place to spend an hour. Pricey but the guide was excellent! If you go to Morpho restaurant right next door, you get a discount at the Garden. Would have enjoyed it more if the price was less.

We went with our kids (ages 8 & 10) and enjoyed our guided tour. It's not very big but we learned a lot. Even now, weeks later, one of my kids will say something about an orchid.

There are some interesting orchids here that you will probably never see elsewhere. It only took about 20 min. for the very knowledgeable guide to take you through and explain everything. $10 for 20 min. seemed a bit pricey. If you go to the Morphos restaurant first you can get $2 off admission.

A beautiful place to go! hundreds of plants and orchids in bloom. Guide Ricardo was informative about orchids from around the world and especially local area. He showed us which ones to smell and use the magnifying glass for. Great value, we had coffee next door and got a discount to go in.

A guide explains all different types of orchids in a small but interesting garden. I have learned so much about orchids on my visit. It is a very educational place so I recommend to visit.
