Loved this tour. Very informative about the coffee growing process; how terrain, weather; the manufacturing process all effect the end result; and about the different varietals of plants and a little about the business side of a coffee plantation. Tasting of light, medium and dark roasts at the end. Also tasting of coffee made with the skin still on and... More

I had chose this tour because I wanted to learn about coffee growing and support the local farmers. I come from a farming community so this was very appealing idea. Even though those two goals were met, my husband and I could not wait for the tour to be over. It was drawn out way too long. The guide was... More

Before this tour, I knew very little about coffee. Now I'm an expert...jk but very informational tour! Our guide, Felix, was very friendly, accommodating, highly educated and spoke English fluently, not to mention entertaining! The tour started with transport to the farm then introductions and background information on the farm itself, of Felix, and of the tour group itself. We then... More

We were in Monteverde for a limited period of time and they accommodated me for a private tour on Sunday morning when one of their competitors would not. Sergio, my tour guide, was awesome telling me all about the operations of this farm built around sustainability practices. They are passionate about what they do and the coffee they produce. They... I chose this tour after reading some other reviews on this site about the Don Juan tour and how commercial it was. This tour was really enjoyable. The farm and the cooperative are really putting a lot of effort into sustainable farming and fair trade practices. Both the guides, Felix and Guimero, are very knowledgable and passionate about coffee farming,... More

The scenery of this coffee plantation is breathtaking! It is also a cooperative, so it is less commercial. Your guide will explain in details the economics and politics of coffee growing in Costa Rica. Our guide was very knowledgeable, very nice with us and took time to answer all our questions. And they come and get you at your hotel... More

This two hour tour of the coffee farm is worth the time. Our tour guide was Victor, his family is one of twelve families that work as part of the co-operative to produce coffee in the area. Collectively they are known as 'Life Monteverde'. There were more producers in the area but a lot gave it up for tourism. We... More

We weren't sure when the van picked up up how much fun this tour would be. But it turned out to be so informative, so beautiful, and so closely related to our little CSA here in America that we felt like we were kindred spirits. I loved to see step by step how these things are made, and were were... More
