Sloths and snakes in trees, armadillo and lots of other critters.

The night tour was long and saw lots of animals; four sloths, 1 armadillo, spiders, 2 snakes, birds, ants and more. The guide was knowledgeable and was able to find a lot of... read more

We arrive at the destination around 5.30pm. There is a great view over the valley below and free popcorn, a winner for all. The tour is a bit confusing: sign our names, asked if we'd already paid, then wait for the tour to commence. A large group arrives 20 minutes later. They arrive last and set off first. I then... I visited Hidden Valley on mid July with my wife and 2 teenagers. In the beginning I was a little disappointed, maybe because of my preconceived idea of "walking at night in the jungle". But the experience turned out to be extremely fulfilling, exiting and worth remembering, maybe the high point of my 10 day stay in Costa Rica. The... More

We just went here at daytime, were really lucky with the wildlife we saw (colorful toucans, morphos and other animals whose names we don't remember) and how well the trails were preserved. You feel very connected to nature, especially compared to the packed national parks, which are also much more expensive! The day fee is only 5$, and the paths... More

First the positives. Our guide,Luis, was knowledgable and tried his best to get us to see animals. There were three or four groups and they were talking to each other as to coordinate sightings. The best animal we saw was a kinkachu. We also saw a frog tarantula and sloth. The sloth and her baby were very far away but... More

We (2 adults, 2 kids ages 10 and 8) visited Hidden Valley for an afternoon hike through the forest. The place was empty except for us, which made for a much quieter walk than the other nature reserves we visited. The trails are still under construction, but what was there was relatively easy to walk. The last little bit of... More

This was one of the best wildlife experiences during our time in the rainforest. We started right before sunset so we got to see many coati (pizote) and even one fall, unfortunatly from a tree. He/she seemed OK, just a little stunned. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and all of the animals and insects. Other animals seen... More

We had a brilliant tour through the forest in a small group of 5. We were each given a flashlight and set off along the trails stopping whenever our guide spotted something of interest. Within a short space of time we had seen the neighbouring tarantula, a katydid, sloth, opossum, and green vine snake. Further along the trails we saw... More

The tour was good and the guide was very good. The issue here was that our group had 10 participants. This seemed too large (I seem to recall that the guide was surprised to have 10 as well). For this type of tour group size should have been around 6 maybe 8 at most.

Tour itself was good but we were not picked up from hotel and have to call taxi to join the tour. Shuttle came to hotel 15 minutes early and didn't wait for us. We were told it will pickup other guests and come back - that never happened. After 30 min wait and couple calls we were told we can... More

It was a solid tour. Only negative if there was one is that there are a number of other groups walking around and we criss crossed... More
