This island was very clean and relaxing. The water was clear and warm. I loved the coco loco and the fresh catch oysters and scallops right there on the beach. It was a peaceful visit to the island.

It was a gorgeous beach! The water was't crystal clear like on the Caribbean side, but it was still very pretty and clear enough that we could snorkle in. The only downside was that it attracted some crazy locals who were incredibly indecent.

Depending on your expectations and previous experience with snorkeling, this could be a really fun trip! Recommended by our B&B we arrived at Curu park at 8:30 AM. At the park we paid the $10,- entrance fee p.p. and drove straight to the beach for the 9:00 AM snorkle trip ($30,- p.p.). (Another option is to arrive at the park... More

This is an amazing island with beautiful beaches. Besides the beaches and views live lots of animals. We saw wild pigs and a turkey and a peacock and lots of birds. The sand is fine but can get hot from the sun. Flip Flops a must. We took a Catamaran from Calypso Cruises in Puntarenas with Adventure tours Costa Rica.... More

We saw two Humpback whales (a mother and her calf) while going out to the island and on the way back again! So cool to be that close! The snorkeling was fun and we really enjoyed the lunch on the island that was provided as part of the tour. Plus the boat ride out was great! One of our favorite... More

The island was very pretty, but we looked around in about an hour and had 8 hours to go. You couldn't go swimming because there was lava rock all over the place, and the boat ride to the island was so bad almost the whole boat got sick. Would not recommend unless you want to lay in the sun all... More

Really enjoyed the snorkeling. It became a little crowded - especially at the picnic area but that's to be expected; it's a popular place.

This beach is a little more than average, and the staff at the food stands and shop are really nice. The only downside is that it costs $1.00 to use the OUTHouse!
