While the concept is good and we did see whale( partially) and dolphins, the boats they use are not at all suitable for such a long journey into the ocean. The sea was rough and my wife was grappling with sea sickness all the time. Most of our co passengers were throwing out. While we enjoyed the sighting of whale... More

Having read previous reviews we wanted to make sure that we did the whale watching trip with a reputable & environment-conscious company so we chose Mississa Watersports. The staff were great & we set off on a calm, clear day with great expectations. Unfortunately we had been going for less than 20 minutes when we realised that this was not... More

The 2 and a half hr journey into the deep sea from Mirissa was very bumpy, but when we came across the dolphins; spinner and bottle nose it was unreal! They were swimming riht beside our ship and we missed our heartbeats when we saw the whales; blue and sperm whales. We did the trip through Kumari Tours from Unawatuna.... More

Very uncomfortable boat - with about 30 people on board. We were stuck there for 6 hours. We saw a few sperm whales ( for about 20 mins in total) but no blue whale. Most of the trip was spent watching people throw up in plastic bags ( at least half of the boat was sick). The boat is uncomfortable,... More

4 hours on board....saw whales for maybe 30 seconds in total. A bit disappointing. But a very good beach at Marissa which made up for the poor whale experience.

Excellent Whale watching tour. Not the cheapest, but certainly safest and best. Taxi from hotel to Galle Navel Boatyard. Commander of Sri Lankan Navy was driver of the boat for the day! Food and drink supplied to all passengers.

Although we got a brief siting of the whales and a good look at the dolphins, a5 hour round trip was a bit much given the sea condition and the need to hang overboard. That said it was one of the many wonderful experiences found on the lovely island of Sri Lanka and allows a tale to be told!!

We had not been on the boat for very long before we had seen bottle nosed dolphins. An hour into the trip and we sighted sperm whales in large numbers. We also saw a blue whale spouting but could not get close.

Wow...the number of blue whales, sperm whales and white whales combined with 50-100 dolphins just made this and outstanding experience - never to be forgotten. DO GO THERE!
