A very good venue and menu. Very reasonable prices. After exploring the Talana Museum (and there is lots to see!), this is a great place to sit down for something to drink and snack on.

This was such an interesting experience! Unfortunately we were restricted to 3 hours at the museum but could easily have spent another 3, but we had to move on. Maybe another time.

The main building was extremely interesting with displays and information on glassware and the coal industry. The museum is set over a large geographical area and we also enjoyed the war rooms

Well worth a visit if interested in history. I love the fact that modern day glass work is included in displays. Meals at the Old Millers house restaurant on site is like "huiskos" enjoyed the freshly baked pies

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Talana Museum on 3 April after a visit to the Blood River Heritage Site. Talana translate in Zulu to "the shelf where precious belongings are kept safe". This is indeed the case. Talana is a very unique museum since it is the only museum in South Africa that is... More

Ideal place to go with children. Very informative and interesting. The whole battlefields experience somehow just comes to life - feel as if you are in a time warp. The Coal Mine was an absolute hit with my children. We have been visiting this museum every year since the 1990's. The restaurant provides great value lunches.
