I've been to Costa Rica many times, but just discovered Pura Vida Ride & Playa Danta on my most recent vacation in March 2015- I wish I had discovered it sooner. I had been drawn to Las Catalinas for paddleboard yoga- but it was a little too windy, so it was cancelled. I decided to stay and go out myself.... More

I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience with Pura Vida Ride. Five stars is truly not enough. I did a mountain bike tour with Patrick, a superb guide. The location, beach, hills and surrounding area is truly beautiful; probably have never ridden a bike a in a more beautiful place. The staff were, knowledgable, friendly and as others have... More

This place is amazing, and on such a beautiful beach that isn't overrun with tourists just yet. They don't mess around with their mountain biking tours, the guide is in amazing shape and its a crazy workout! I made the mistake of thinking it would be a nice picturesque potentially challenging day, and ended up eating it twice on the... More

We were staying in a nearby hotel and used Las Catalinas/Pura Vida Ride for SUP board rentals on two occasions. These guys are very well organized and equipped so if you are a complete novice to an experienced paddler, they can help you get going. When we were there, the waves were very small, so it was perfect for mostly... More

Great experience to be able to pedal though the forest. Great guide (Sam) and great equipment. It was crazy hot so bring a camelback if you have one. Sam did not pressure two out of shape Canadians (it has been winter for a very long time) he was patient and took time to point out things of interest along the... More

What a great ride. Well groomed trails that are challenging enough, but never leave you feeling unsafe. A+ equipment to rent, and a very cool guide (Sam.) Even though we left at 8am, it was still oppressively hot, but our guide was very patient with our pace, flexible in our route, and was careful to ensure we didn't over-do it.... More

I learned how to SUP back on a lake in Minnesota. ...its a little different experience out on the ocean. This is a great place to learn how to manage the waves. I just wish the had a bigger board for my husband who is 6'8" the largest board the had was 11'6" very friendly staff. Tip, they sometimes offer... More

Took a day trip with my family to Playa Danta from Tamarindo. Friends had recommended Pura Vida Ride for stand up paddle boarding, and it was such a fun experience! Since it was our first time (and pretty windy), we had a private hour lesson with Jessi, who was very knowledgeable about the area as well as a great instructor!... More

Was looking forward to mountain biking at Las Catalinas and was not disappointed from the minute I entered the shop to rent a bike. Got a New Scott hardtail 29er. The trails there are great. Workers there just finished up the "Secret Trail". Everyone at Pura Vida Ride was extremely nice and helpful. And after riding the trails its a... More

English speaking employees made communication easy. I did the $55 package where I could use anything for 4 hours which I thought was a great deal......first a got a MTB bike...good quality Trek bike with disc brakes...they put on SPD pedals for me and my own MTB shoes. I consider myself a fairly competent MTB biker and I knew it... More
