VISIT OUR CELLAR DOOR ANY TIME OF YEAR

Rockburn Wines is a key producer of six varietals. We take our name from the rugged rock-strewn, burn-scarred landscape of Central Otago. The climate and conditions here are extreme, but so is the local passion for wine, in particular Pinot Noir. The fruit from Rockburn's carefully sited vineyards blend in harmony to yield a pure expression of Central Otago.

Winemaker Malcolm Rees-Francis' zeal for Central Otago Pinot Noir is evident in the finely textured, silky charm exhibited in every vintage.

As well as award winning Pinot Noir, Rockburn produce a number of high quality white wines including Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc.

As the title suggests, Nicola was awesome! She made us very welcome and appreciated. She was not only very knowledgeable about the wines she was serving but also very interested in learning about us. It was an all around delightful experience. This place is definitely worth it and Nicola made it even more pleasure able! We love the wine and... More

My husband and I have visited all the wine regions in NZ, and some others throughout the world. The service here from Nic, is one of the best we have ever experienced. She is knowledgeable and friendly, and gave us good reviews on the wine and tasting notes. We only went away with three bottles, and really would have bought... More

We had driven past many times but never ventured inside. The location (in the commercial area) wasn't giving any clues to what we'd find inside. The wine selection is extraordinary and the staff so knowledgeable and friendly. No need to be a wine expert to go there, just try, and decide what you like.

What a great wine tasting clear door. Nicely appoint in the middle of an industrial area on the way to Bannockburn. Great and knowledgeable service. Amazing Pinots. Devils staircase as in an excellent example of an entry level Pinot that is great quality, great value for money and very tasty. We enjoyed he experience very much.

This winery may not have the stunning location of many others here but don't let the industrial estate put you off. Rockburn Pinots are consistently amongst the best in Otago and on our recent visit we were not disappointed. In fact we were elated.....there was a vertical tasting of the last eight vintages in full swing. Life does not get... More

When we visited NZ in 2012, we discovered Central Otago Pinot Noir and were immediately seduced by Devil's Staircase because it is a pure, straight forward fruity wine, which is produced without any contact with oak. Only very ripe grapes are used and the winemaking process is very natural and organic. Very few Central Otago Pinot Noirs are imported in... More

We visited Rockburn Wines as a result of tripadvisor reviews, and how right they were. Delicious wines and fabulous service and advice from Nic at the tasting, we spent far longer than we intended there on our way to Fjordland, but well worth it. Thank you Nic, more converts from Wales

When working out your itinerary for Central Otago Cellar Door visits I recommend Rockburn. Cellar Door Manager Nic Taylor makes everyone feel welcome and imparts knowledge of the wines and the region in a personable manner. It goes without saying that the wines are fab too....

I've done wine tastings all over the world, and the one my wife and I did at Rockburn Winery was one of the most enjoyable ever. First, the wines are outstanding. Rockburn is a small, unpretentious place, but the wine is first rate. Of course, that's a matter of personal taste. What made the tasting so outstanding was that Ed,... More

It's always a pleasure to call in and enjoy the friendly atmosphere that Nic creates. We have been visiting annually and our faces are never forgotten. This is a winery we will always visit and enjoy their wines.
