This is a fascinating little museum tucked away in Newtonmore. It's certainly worth a visit. In telling the story of the MacPhersons, the museum also explores much of Scotland's history. One could spend hours here, but we only had a brief time to explore the exhibits. Entry is free, but donations are welcome.

If you are a Macpherson or one of their septs or related clans (Almost everybody can find a connection somehow) you will really enjoy a visit to this small museum. The curator on the day (Bill) was fantastic and had loads of local knowledge too. Definetly worth a visit if you are in Newtonmore.

We had no connection with the Clan Macpherson and wandered in just to pass in the time really, it's not a big building but found it very interesting and the Caretaker was very keen to answer any questions. We exchanged information regarding one exhibit and I think we all learned something that day.
