Enjoyable walk in the great outdoors. God was having a good day when he created this stunning rock and valley.

What an amazingly beautiful and serene place to just stand and appreciate the wonder of God's creation. We had taken a group of couples from America here a few years ago in September of that year, and this was one of the highlights of our 2 week tour of England.

My husband and I stopped off here on our way home after a lovely weekend in Symonds Yat. Parking on site. Well sign posted to the viewing area. We visited on a Sunday late morning on the coldest weekend of the year in November. Because of this, was probably why there was hardly any visitors. However, we wrapped up well... More

A beautiful place high up in the Forest of Dean with wonderful views looking down on the River Wye. From the look out point you can also see across to the nesting site of a pair of peregrine falcons. There are lots and lots of walks you can take through the woods, most are marked. There is a visitor centre... More

Thankfully we were in the region for a few days and were able to get the views of the river. You need signs for East Symonds Yat or Symonds Rock and expect some near misses from traffic in the opposite direction. There are a few road-side parking spots just by the footbridge and disabled parking within a short walk of... More

You cannot ask for a better day out with friends, family, your partner or just hanging out by yourself. The walking trails are easy and the walk up the hill is worth the view. Surrounding pubs and small hotels are very hospitable. A perfect day would be a nice walk, ferry ride across the river, then sitting and having a... More

Fell upon symonds yat not knowing what it was. Plenty of parking, then checked out routed walks which is very confusing as walks have same colour guided marks??? Found way to the yay, and wow what a view, very impressive. We walked down to the river in the valley, quite a steep walk, but riverside very pleasant with a few... More
