Lovely for a walk even if the sun isnt shining, This is raised timber walkway over acres of sand dunes running parallel to the huge beach. It is very peaceful , and ideal to enjoy the fresh ocean air. The Boardwalk and the Cliffs at the opposite end of the beach are a must see when in Alvor.

Great for the little ones to ride their bikes while you have a nice walk to the beach. We do this regularly good for the soul.

The boardwalk is a great place to go for a walk for people of all ages. It's flat all the way which is great when you have small children and pushchairs. There are many interconnecting paths so if you visit a few times you can vary which route you take. On one side you have the beach and the other... More

The boardwalk is fantastic facility either for a healthy active walk in the morning or evening or just a leisurely stroll. A great way to use and enjoy protected lands and still enjoy the scenery. For us it is a major attraction

There is a long boardwalk here which allows you to view the dunes, birds and all. The beach is incredible, and it was great fun to watch the kite surfers. We felt it was worth the side trip into Alvor to do this

The boardwalks take you leisurely over the sand dunes towards the entrance to the estuary.it is easily accessible for wheelchairs and prams but be aware there are no facilities en route we walked out on the boardwalk and returned via the beach I would say a 4 to 5 mile walk. It's great to see the wildlife and the stunning... More

It's a lovely town, which we've stayed in previously, lots like Lagos but on a smaller scale, fabulous beach and Boardwalk which was only finished last year I think. This time we got a river taxi to Alvor from Lagos, which was fab and got the bus back.

Good walk from the beach to Alvor. Nice to see some of the wildlife and flowers of the area. Good access to restaurants along the beach.

The boardwalk in Alvor is ideal for walking, running or cycling and is a great way of using the area behind the beach to access the beach and give great views of Alvor, the harbour, and across the inlet and bay (Lagos).
