This is one of the most beautiful churches in Germany in my opinion. The interior is just magnificent. The location adds to the experience as the church stands along in the middle of a peaceful green valley. It is accessible by bicycle and car routes.

This church is stunning, there are no other words to describe it. You need to take time to take in and appreciate the paintings on the walls and ceilings, and if you look at the front pews, although graffiti isn't great especially in a church (people have carved initials and dates into the wood), it adds a certain charm -... So peaceful. Beautiful paintings on the walls and ceiling. It's bright in the church so you can really see the paintings. It's a short drive from Fussen and Neuschwanstein Castle. We sat for a little while in the quiet of the church to enjoy it. You do pay for parking, and there is a very clean .50 WC at the... More

My rating is from seeing the church only through the back entrance window, as mass was going on and we would have entered in the middle of it. Through the window, it didn't look significantly different than the Oberammergau church. Our recommendation is to try to be sure you have time to go in, that you are at a beginning... More

A tiny chapel wasn't big enough to house the statue of Christ in tears, so a bigger church was built to allow pilgrims to come see this miracle for themselves. Located in a meadow far away from any heavily populated area, the word I heard from our group was 'WOW'. We read accounts of miraculous hearings which have occurred after... More

We were on a coach trip which allowed use 20 minutes to visit this church. The interior is undoutably very good but we saw several churches in Munich which are even more spectacular than this one. If this is the only church that you have visit, then you will probably think that it is unbelieveable, but there are many other,... More

I've been to numerous Bavarian baroque churches and have to agree that the WeisKirche is the king of them all. Too bad it is surrounded by souvenir hucksters and beer slingers, but inside it is another world. Was it appropriate to spend so much money building such lavishly decorated churches? Something to ponder amongst the splendor.

-make it this one. Unassuming from the outside through the door is like stepping into a inverted wedding cake. It is almost too much to take in. We especially admired the ceiling painting with the door of Heaven.

Beautifully decorated baroque interior, all white and gold around a magnificent tromp l'oeil. Breathtaking!
