The fort is small compared to the other forts of the country. But historically important as it is Shivajis fort who was the first hindu king who understood the importance of agoog army . The fort is totally neglected so much can be done but ASI........

We planned a visit to the fort on hearing from the travel guide at the hotel. No proper directions along the way and once we reached the palce we found its aunattended. However , would still suggest a visit

It is about 30 mins from Ganpatipule. Some of the views of the Arabian Sea are just amazing from the Fort. We enjoyed going around it... ! If the fort would have been properly preserved, it would have been great. Locals have marred it by scribbling on the walls.

Should you visit Jaigad Fort? Let me put it this way. By itself, it's not a spectacular fort, nor is it steeped in history. But once in Ganpatipule, you might as well visit this place because there's not too much else to do, the drive to this place is pretty nice, and it offers some nice views of the sea.... More

The part of it I liked the most is the drive from city to the fort. Along the sea drive gives you an awesome feel. Not much to see within the fort though. Nice view of Sea and Jaigad from end of fort.

Exceptional view of the calm Arabian sea from this very badly maintained fort. Be careful while climbing the stairs of this fort, avoid walking in the middle of the bushes. If you are planning to visit Ganpatipule, add Jaigad Fort to your list in the adventure section!

Not at all maintained. If you have visited any other forts in konkan beaches, you can avoid this. Place to visit only if you are enroute for Jaigad Ferry.

The Jaigad fort, about 20 kms from the Ganpatipule beach is a definite visit. Grand structure with history of Angre. The JSW electricity plant is right next to it, giving it a classical old - new setting.

Of course as mentioned by many tourist fort is not maintained and it is very calm place. If grass and wild bushes are cut it will give complete satisfaction of visit .Our family were fortunate to see what others did not mentioned .While enjoying panoramic view of arabian sea and creek towards chowgule shipyard we could see many dolphins jumping in...
