Spectacular! Plenty of pools to choose from with varying temperatures & water spurts to massage those aching muscles. Lockers available for a small fee for your valuables & a cafe with best chicken & apricot pizza I have ever had. Photographer on site to take photos which are ready in an Hanmer Springs package for you take on your leave.... More

Having grown up partly in Christchurch, we visited Hanmer a number of times. I have watched the hot pools complex grow from 3 hot pools & 1 cold pool, to the place it has become today. My Nana retired from Christchurch to Hanmer as well, so that meant more visits. When I visited with my parents, so Dad and I... More

We were tossing up between going through Arthur's Pass or Lewis pass due to the weather. We took the advise of the locals and travelled through Lewis pass which enabled us to stop for a break at the thermal pools. Great decision, even though it was drizzling didn't affect the activity. Sent the others to have fun in the pools... More

This was perfect to visit on a cold, drizzly day. The water slide pass added an extra element of fun and we moved between the pools to the slides for a variety of pace. The only things that would make this better are cocktails in the pools and music for atmosphere. We stayed at Drifters over the road which was... More

Amazing experience especially when you are travelling a lot. Good selection of pools and water temperatures. Bathrooms should have hair dryers and price for a single ticket a bit too high for my liking....

Came here with the expectation of enjoying some of New Zealand's natural beauty from a naturally heated rock pool. What i got was an overpriced water park, complete with slides, and dudes wandering around trying to rake pictures of couples that could be sold back to them later. The overall cleanliness was pretty bad as well. I definitely felt grimey... More

The Hamner Springs Thermal Pools were a real highlight of my trip round New Zealand. I stuck to the spa area of the attraction, dipping in the hexagonal, aquatherapy and sulphur pools. The temperatures ranged from 36-42 degrees centigrade. I eased myself in at 36 and swiftly worked my way up to the hotter pools. They were wonderful and felt... More

I had the deluxe package at the spa with a 60 minute full body massage, 30 Minutes steam room and pool entry. From the moment you walk in you start to relax. It was my first time to a spa so I was a little nervous but as soon as I got the it went away. The massage was so... More

The Thermal pools relaxing , clean and tidy. Well patrolled by many life guards. Enjoyed the hot stone massage, staff are professional , everything worked well and organised . Had the best sleep that evening.

We really enjoyed soaking in the thermal pools. Especially worthwhile are the natural rock water and sulfur water pools. The sulfur water pools are at 40, 41 and 42 degrees, so they are great for relaxing the body. The day ticket is not overly expensive (NZD 20 for adult, 15 for seniors 60+). Only issue we had is that the... More
