Popped along with my kids 10 & 8 and we had a ball. A great hour strolling through the beautiful farm petting and feeding animals was a great way to spend the morning. Patches the pig who opens his mouth to catch food, Licky the blind deer, the charming Cockatoos, the hilarious Llamas to the fluffy alpacas! Highly recommend!

I loved that kids could run around and you didn't have to worry about them. The animals were well looked after and happy. The owner explained at night most of the animals happily walk back to their paddocks at night and then walk back to the park inthe morning for their treats - they aren't silly. Best part was watching... More

We had a nice getaway in Hanmer with our 3 year old son and the highlight for him was Wai raiki farm park. Wonderful hosts and the BEST coffee. The animals were so friendly and obviously well looked after. We'll be back again for sure!

Had been to Wai ariki on a previous trip to NZ and our daughters were excited to return to visit 'Licky' the deer. They were not disappointed and enjoyed all the animals. The owner has great respect for, and knowledge of, his animals and they are all very relaxed and friendly. It is easy to keep an eye on the... More

After a relaxed lunch on the verandah, we had fun feeding, photographing, petting and talking to the animals which are very friendly and tame. Some of them are real characters and all have their own personalities. At the end of our visit, we had a long chat with the owner and came away with the feeling that he is a... More

We were looking forward to our lunchtime visit but were mildly shocked to see a mostly empty carpark; our first warning sign perhaps. On entering we were greeted and food ordered and paid we went to an outside table. After we finished this we started looking around the animals and the deserted, depressed feeling seemed to be contagious. Soon enough... More

Shocking customer service. The poor alpacas and donkey in a dry dusty enclosure all day. Surely our standards for animal welfare are higher. Will never return and will tell others not to visit either.

OMG, DESERT ANIMALS DISPLAYED IN NATURAL ENVIRONMENT!!! So again our mantra “Never under estimate the power of human stupidity” rings true. Yes, Samule the donkey and Sabrina, Petra, Jazz, Haley and Ash’s display pens have a dirt floor. This creates an environment that they are comfortable with. If you knew anything about their breeds you would know that both Alpacas... More
