Went for a morning walk through this forest, able to do over 5kms without repeating any area. The trees are magnificent, some planted in the 1920's - for us it was interesting to see what they looked like at maturity stage. Look forward to exploring another area on our next visit

We went for a MTB ride on the 6.5km Easy Rider loop track. Good easy grade with some slightly more challenging sections. Mostly single bike width, going through thick forest. Very pretty and picturesque. The forest has other MTB trails as well as walking tracks. Good family fun.

Lots of walks not far from the center of town with a vast range of difficulty. Great views as you walk around

Biked the amazing interconnected trails in both native and exotic forest areas. Suitable for ability levels. nothing like biking along with birdsong all around.

Walked the "forest journey" it said it would take an hour and a half but took me about an hour. Several access points from town and different trails all with differing lengths of time.

The exotic forest offers a range of easy woodland walks which are well signposted and graded. We did the Forest walk and the Meadow walk both of which are an easy one hour stroll. Look out for impressive Californian redwood in the Meadow walk.

We went for one of the walks! It was lovely - very quiet, lots of green and water :) Just a really peaceful place. We saw others riding their bikes too

We are a family with two new riders and one on a toddler seat and we found the hanmer forest great riding! Stopped to ask some locals (bach owners) for some tips and they pointed out two or three tracks suitable for our various skill levels! Best idea ever bringing our bikes with us!

We were planning on just doing the woodlands walk with 2 kids, as that was an hour. Kids guided us and we ended up at the lookout, which was awesome, well worth the extra 1 hour. We got lost walking back and ended up walking through some part of town, before getting back on a track, that was between 2... More

A relaxing place to visit while waiting to attend the springs or to just take a walk through while in the area. If your here you may as well have a wander through the forest
