Great for an easy bush walk in the fresh air, nicely maintained and well worth a look on a fine day.

We visit Hanmer a lot, and Hanmer Forest is a must do on each occasion. Most recently we walked the trails with snow all around on a very crisp clear Sunday morning, it was quiet and stunningly beautiful. Each season offers something special, and weather enjoying on horseback, bike or foot, everyone has access to enjoy their experience. I love... More

Hanmer Springs is an absolute gem of a town. Perfectly sized with just the right balance of shopping (really good considering the size of the place) fantastic fun and leisure choices (the hot pools really are soooo good!) and the most glorious natural beauty.

Wonderful place for a long walk amongst the native trees, watch out for bikes though! Every time you see a new spot to explorer, never boring and fab exercise to keep you healthy.

We love the pools especially the therapeutic pools which are great for aches and pains.. Also love the sulphur pools for that extra bit of added heat. They have recently done up some of their changing rooms , they do look great but do not provide private rooms in the new update so that you have to change in view... More

Always fun for the weekends to take the bikes and have a spin around the tracks, good for young and old as there are tracks suitable for every age group.

There are many forest walks, all signed and easy to follow, helped with a map from the i-site. I saw many native birds; robins, fantails and pigeons, and the bellbirds were singing all the way on our walk. One of the few places in NZ where dogs are welcome off lead; ours had a great time!!
