Our vineyard was planted in 1999 and since then we have progressively increased our production to meet demand. We are two ex school teachers who made a tree change to the Granite Belt to grow grapes, make wine and open a cellar door. It’s a hands-on operation as all processes are completed by the two of us on site. We skillfully create regional wines that exhibit strong varietal fruit characters.

For an experience like no other when visiting Wine Cellars, Pyramids Road Winery adjacent to Girraween National Park in the Granite Belt of Queensland is a must do. Owners Sue and Warren (Smithy) Smith will very proudly not only pour you samples of the beautiful wine they produce, but happily explain the process of making it, and if you are... More

My husband and I really enjoyed this vineyard. In fact it was one of our favorites. Warren the owner was very personable and spent a lot of time with our small tour group. He talked us through his winemaking philosophy, showed us the equipment and let us sample all of his wines, even bringing us some samples from the next... More

Some wonderful wines here. Particularly the Wattlebird Red and Mistella (those rose petals blow you away). We went on the Easter holidays after a bushwalk at Underground Creek (highly recommended) and the kids enjoyed playing with the dog and tasting the grape juice at various early stages of fermentation. Warren was very knowledgable and friendly. Will definitely go back, and... More

This was our second visit to Pyramid Road after being introduced to it by our friends the time before. We got a full tour, full tasting session and a great insight to winemaking in the Granite Belt. We will be back at the next opportunity, and in between times, there is an ordering service to top up on our favourites!!

Thank you so much for coming back to see us especially since you travelled so far to get to us. Although the Granite Belt is a small wine making region in terms of the national perspective, we do make some outstanding wine. At Pyramids Road Wines, we like to think we offer personalised service and unique experiences due to the... More

We have been to this winery a few times and it never disappoints. The most friendly welcome and the wine is lovely, so good we made a point of going that way home from the Hunter Valley to Brisbane - just to get a few more bottles of their wonderful Wattlebird Red! I would recommend this fantastic winery to all.

Vintage is a fabulous time to visit our winery. As we make all our wine here, we can really show you a hands-on experience. You can plunge the cap on a ferment, sample grape juice and unfinished wines from the tanks. Vintage runs from February through to April. Thanks for your kind comments and we look forward to showing you... More

Just finished a lovely meal made perfect by a glass of Pyramids Road Merlot. Even our 19 year old daughter had to comment on the quality of the wine. We loved driving through the Granite Belt and discovering all the great places and scenery, and of course, the great wineries! We were warmly welcomed by Maitre D 'Ralph', and its... More

Ralph is quite a star and is often the centre of attraction. He manages to sell quite a few Wine Dogs Australia books and entertain the customers with ease. Glad you and your family enjoyed our Merlot. I hope you get the chance to call on us again to try the new release Merlot due to be bottled in winter.... More

This winery is a little off the beaten track but you see some interesting sights along the track (a pyramid, a steam train etc) so it's worth the detour. The people are friendly and the toilets are clean.
