This was in the advert for WOOKEY Hole and the grandchildren had been looking forward to watching it for a school project and it was not in operation. A notice said that due to the age of the machinery it was unprepared. Given that it was a school holiday that we visited I would have expected that the staff would... More

This is a great eclectic addition to the whole Wookey Hole attraction but not big enough for a visit just to see the paper mill. The whole thing is certainly worth a visit and see the Paper Mill while you are there. We had a great day.

What a disappointment. Me and my husband at least thought this part of the day would be interesting. It's not a paper mill, just a room with some old paper making equipment in it. The only bit that's (sort of) in use is a big dip tank with paper fibres in it. The tour guide scoops out some fibres on... More

Out of all the displays and things to do at Wookey Hole, this was probably the most disappointing. The staff throughtout Wookey Hole were pleasant and enthusiastic apart from this where they were just going through the motions. My seven year old son thought they would get a small piece of paper to take home, but in reality you watched... More

The tour of the carbs is really interesting but sadly the remaining attractions are tacky and of little interest

It's such a shame that an attraction once famed for its paper and paper mill has let go to this! The poor kids who were making the paper were almost left with no direction at all. They weren't even told when they had finished making the paper and were eventually told to "wash your hands and go" the little girl... More

A very disappointing visit. Made aware that paper was not made there any more for commercial use but ............... Children were left to make the sheets of paper and the guy giving the talk had a could not care less attitude as far as we were concerned and was as if he definitely did not want to be there!

I was surprised by how many people just drifted past this part of the attraction. There was a good historical video and a good deal of information. My children were tuned in and eager to learn given the chance. Give it the time it deserves and learn a few things!

This attraction could be outstanding but is let down by staff who appear to have no interest in their jobs and are more interested in chatting amongst themselves. The place could do with a though clean up and staff with a complete change of attitude.

Again this is part of the 'Wookey Hole' day (well 2 hours) out. This paper mill is one room with some old machinery and posters on the wall. There are demonstrations on how paper is made and children (if they are tall enough) can have a try at making paper. This is ok, not great though...
