If you're looking for something touristic and overly popular, i do not recommend Burgaz, you should visit Büyükada then. Burgazada is a small, slow and fascinating landscape that should not be passed by when one comes to Istanbul. when you step into the island, take a tour by walking first. see the original houses, trees with yellow, white and purple... Need to chill out? Get out of Istanbul mass? Ride a bike, take a walk, or swim. You can do all at the same island. Kalpazankaya is great for an end of the day raki and fish. Marta beach is a fantastic place to camp. Best icecream at Sinem Dondurma.

The only thing the Buyukada has going in the scenery. I recommend walking away from the crowded areas by the water and through the residential streets. The houses make you feel like you're in Key West and the views are spectacular. I'd urge anyone reading this to steer away from the carriage rides (which they tote as a relaxing way... More

My day here with family differed from the touristic version because my daughter-in-law joined friends at their place on the island. After the dense traffic of Istanbul, time on Burgazada with no vehicles save horse-drawn carts seemed very tranquil, indeed. We did not ride the carts, but hiked the roads instead. The beaches here are shingle, some covered with bright... More

If you need to be somewhere quite, tranquil... lots of green, fresh air, this island is my favorite in Istanbul. Get away from the crowd, walk by the sea and nature.

My college-age son and I spent a delightful day on the biggest of the Prince Islands and the last stop on the ferry ride from Kabatas. No need to book an expensive tour because you can do it yourself on the cheap! You can pay for the ferry on your metro transit card or buy a token called a "jeton."This... More

This was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. We took one of these romaticized carriage rides with my family. First of all, there is nothing romantic about it. The square where the horses line up like taxis (packed so closely that they nearly step on one another) has a stench I cannot describe. The horses are exposed... More

Me and my 5 year old son went to Princes Islands to spend a slowly day there. We did take the expensive carriage ride which I would recommend only if you for some reason don't rent a bike. It is a bit hilly, but cycling is definitely better way to see the island. Then you can stop at the places... More

This was a nice visit but not worth an entire day. We took a carriage ride around the island and were afraid the carriage wheel was going to break off and we were going to die. Our guide seemed to be in a hurry and we pretty much passed up every other carriage along the way. Plus it would have... More
