We took a ferry from Kabatash in Istanbul for Princess island in the morning. On arrival, You will find shops for Bicycle rentals. We took 2 bicycles for 5 hours in 30 Liras (I think its more negotiable). Good scenery, peaceful environment, well, I must stay, I did the right choice by choosing a day trip to Princess island. Not many tourists know about this island. It is smaller than Buyuk Ada, Princess Islands, but more peaceful, so you can enjoy quiet life and getaway from noisy Istanbul. It has cute and cozy restaurants and cafes for every taste.

Burgazada is a great way to leave busy Istanbul for weekdays/weekends. It is just 1 hour boat trip to island. I can say that in Burgazada you can see more local people around and also Burgazada is the most natural and green island. Burgazada offers many things to do around. You can just hire and ride a bicycle to the... More

This is the quietest of the four main islands; if you want to do a bit of profiling on a trendy beach, this isn't the spot for you. If you do want to slow right down, walk, look at sea views, envy the lovely homes and gardens, eat ice cream, drink surprisingly good espresso, swim in the sea, and look... More

We initially planned to have a short stop here and than go further to Heybeliada or Adalar. Yet, we ended up spending our whole day there. Just walking around can be very relaxing even in the burning sun. The beaches are not for sunbathing but if you have sandals I would recommend a dip. It's a great place to visit... More

We got off the ferry at the wrong stop and ended up in Burgazada. Best mistake ever because it's such a peaceful island with so much character. We took a horse and carriage around the island which was a lot of fun though a bit scary around those corners. Great views and lots of places to swim. We ate at... More

I went island hopping for a day on my 6 day trip to Istanbul and absolutely loved my experience! Definitely recommend checking out the islands, transport is easy to use and the views are magnificent. I've written a bit more about it on my blog if anyone is interested: http://kays-kitchen.co.uk/2014/09/19/istanbul-day-3/
