You can climb ALL the way to the TOP. Yes, the VERY TOP. You get to the very end and think that you can't go up any further and then my boyfriend pointed to some rocks that lead to the top. We had a wonderful picnic with gyros and wine!

Nice little hike to a church precariously located on the backside of the rock. Harder work than it looks, but some great views and picture taking opportunities.

We found the path to walk down to the Skaros rock by accident. It's fairly physical but you don't have to be in great shape just take it easy. The unique views are worth the walk.

The rocky path going to and from the rock wasn't too bad and it had great views there was a neat church on the other side. a cool spot to explore.

We detoured to the rock while walking from Fira to Oia. It's a beautiful spot with great views! The trail wasn't hard for us to walk and we really enjoyed it!

Great walk, be aware of the climb to get atop the rock! Walkways are typical for Greece - hikers beware. Amazing views. Before you go read up on the history of ancient Skaros inhabitants. The remnants of their buildings can be seen.

If you want to just climb the rock, the way down is easier than the way up. (Lots of steps, and on the way back up you're already tired.) As you're winding your way around the base of the rock you'll come to a fork in the trail; the left fork will take you down to the little white chapel... More
