Decent shoes are a must as the path around the rock has some gravel in parts. Great photo opportunity at the little church down the front towards the caldera. Walking back up all those stairs is great fitness for a holiday where you're doing a lot of eating and relaxing! If you can drag yourself out of bed by 8... More

Walk out onto the rock, and around onto the far side to visit the church clinging to the rock face. Go before the sun gets onto the rock for a cooler walk

When you see the Skaros from the sea, then you understand how high all the rooms are in Imerovigli. We walk on Skaros, and "Dam" I didn't know that climping on the top needs really climping skills :)

A fairly easy walk, just take some water if going in the heat of the day. Offers spectacular views from the very top. As a hint, go right to the top until you think you can't go any further, you will see what looks like a sheer piece of rock and no way up. Then look to your right and... More

We had been staring at the rock from our hotel and restaurants and we were determined to climb it after seeing people on the top. One morning we set off quite early and made our way up. There are a lot of steps down to the path but the path up the rock is quite easy and leads to some... More

Went here in the evening to catch the sunset and it was quite easy until the bottom of the rock.Getting up Skaros is a bit of a stroll, walking shoes are needed, but if you like a bit of adrenaline,is the perfect activity.Unfortunately, we got up just before the sunset, took a few pictures of it and had to climb back down... My daughter and I hike there before sunset. Amazing view and well made path made the hiking more fun. Bring some water with you and don't forget to visit the little church behind the rock.

Well made path gets you almost all the way across to the rock where the ruins of the old castle are still visible in places. Scramble up the back of the tower for amazing views back to Imerovigli . More steps down bring you to yet another picture postcard church. Take water , and go early for sunrise over the... More

It was a trek to get to the top in the dead heat of July - I would have preferred to climb it under cooler conditions. Beautiful view nonetheless!
