We had the most amazing view of Skaros rock from our room at Astra Suites and watched everyone make this hike and we took our turn in the morning and it was awesome, don't miss the trail to the church on the side- it is well worth the hike!

The pluses were that the view of the caldera and the villages to the south are great from this restaurant, and it personally appreciated the lounge-like vibe and music of this place. The food was solid - I recommend the stuffed mushrooms, but the service was really spotty. No one was rude, but it felt Inattentive, and our server was... More

We were staying opposite Skaros, so it seemed a natural thing to go and climb it, as we had watched countless others do during our stay. It's not a hard walk at all, but we were totally unprepared for the beauty of the church on the far side of the rock, even though we knew it was there having spied... More

Not as fearsome as it looks, great views views of the caldera, Fira and Oia. The walk out and back is fine, To reach the top of the rock requires some nerve (particularly to come down) and the right shoes!

We were staying in Imerovigli so constantly seeing people climbing all over it made us want to explore it too! We detoured to it on our way walking to Oia and we're glad we did. The terrain a bit rough and overgrown but well worth walking right down to the other side to the church on the edge - wonderful... More

Great short hike with excellent views. We loved to start our mornings with this hike and then have an amazing breakfast at Kapari Natural Resort

Quite a few stairs and bit rough terrain but worth the view There is a way to get up on top but be careful it's a bit sketchy climbing down

Quick hike, nice view. Takes about 20 minutes one way. Could combine this with a walk to the city of Ola.

During our Fira-Oia trail, we made a detour to visit Skaros Rock and we were so happy we did this. Skaros Rock used to have a castle on top of it, before it got destroyed by a volcano eruption. The only remainder is a small white church. From the church you can make the most beautiful pictures of Skaros Rock... More

Our hotel was directly above Skaros so it was a no brainer to explore it. There is a steep footpath down to it and then around the rock itself so sensible footwear is essential (trainers at least no flip flops). The views from the seaward side of the rock are spectacular. There is also a very nice surprise when you... More
