My 9 year-old son and I went on the waterfall ride. It was a wonderful experience. Hector was a fantastic guide - kind, reassuring, caring, and knowledgeable. The horses are well cared for and look healthy. There were a variety of ability and experience levels on the trip but everyone was able to enjoy it. Hector pointed out animals during... More

Well maintained and clean facility. Horses were tacked up and waiting when we arrived, the equipment was clean and well taken care of. Beautiful horses are healthy, well trained and were matched to our group's skill levels. As experienced riders, we thoroughly enjoyed the horses chosen for us. Our ride was led by Risto who is very personable, knowledgeable, and... More

The horses here seem well cared for which was why we chose to ride here, my daughter and husband went for the beach ride. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable and once he saw that they were both good riders he let them ride pretty much how they wanted rather than in a line like your typical trail riding. They... We decided to go horseback riding once we found out that Rancho La Merced treated their horses well. It was my first time horseback riding (my husband has been before). We did the 2/3 hour ride into the jungle to the waterfall and it was AMAZING. We even went through a few streams to get there, it was really adventurous!... More

We signed up for a morning ride. It turned out to be a private ride. Eavaristo was a great guide. He made sure everything was alright. The horses were well cared for. The scenery was spectacular. This ride was a great way to get to see the jungle in an undisturbed way. Be ready to get a little wet though.... More

My boyfriend and I signed up for a private horseback ride along the beach on the last day of our vacation in Costa Rica. I am so glad we did!! It was an incredible 2-hour ride through the beautiful jungle reserve and we spent plenty of time along the beach. Evanisto was our guide. He was cheerful, knowledgeable and nice... More

Beautiful ride through the jungle opens up onto Playa Hermosa! Our ride south took us to the mouth of the river and then back north showed us the sunset! Our guide, Reista (not sure if I spelled his name right, so sorry), taught us about the flora and fauna along the trails. The Howler monkeys greeted us and beautiful green... More
