Thank you Rancho La Merced for our amazing horseback tour! My family of 18 went on a tour with them and all of us loved it! We first rode through the jungle/rain forest then finished our tour riding on the beach. The horses were very well behaved. We had 2 young children riding and they had a blast! I have... More

The staff at Rancho La Merced are the best I have experienced with determining experience and skill level as they assign each guest a horse. My daughter-in-law, 8 year old granddaughter and I enjoyed a leisurely ride (along with two other guests and our guide) to the waterfalls. The swim in the waterfalls area was so refreshing and the scenery... More

We have booked this horse riding tour through Cabinas Los Laureles. We could choose between two tours, one along the sea, one into the mountains. We chose the beach tour which was very nice. The horses are in good shape and are well taken care of. Also helpful guides. Visited: November 2010 More

We rode to a waterfall through a primary forest. Not only was it cool and pleasant, but we saw some incredible birds thanks to the observant eyes of our guide, Heraldo. We saw a spectacled owl, a beautiful 3 meter snake, a very large green iguana, a red-capped manakin, a blue-crowned manakin, and a violaceous trogan, not to mention the... More

My boyfriend and I did the Sunset Horseback ride to Playa Hermosa and loved it!! We have both ridden before and done a few horseback tours so we were able to gallop along the beach. The horses are healthy and beautiful. More

We took a tour through the rainforest to a waterfall. It was about a 1 hour ride to the waterfall, then they gave us about 1-1.5 hours to do whatever we wanted before riding back to the ranch. Our guide was incredibly nice and knowledgeable and we saw howler monkeys, lizards, frogs, birds, and lots of great scenery on our... More

We stayed in their lodge, good clean rooms. We ate on a porch associated with their house, very good food, liked the personal touch and conversations. The guide [the owner] was knowledgeable and made real effort to ensure we saw the local birds, local forests and animals. A good grasp of natural history. Monkeys were close by. Lots of interesting... More

I usually horseback ride when I travel, and this was the best one ever. The horses are beautiful and we rode by the "nursery" for the baby cows with their moms and the baby horses with their moms. The property is beautiful and we saw monkeys, a sloth and 450-year old trees. They love their animals here, more than I've... More
