I've been to different landscapes in Brazil and the combination of caves, rives , cannions and waterfalls has made Chapada Diamantina a perfect destination. If you are in doubt about going or not...you will see a very distinguish place. Brazil is not just about beaches...

We did not enter the park itself as you have to hike several days. We visited attractions around the park and did some hiking there

We hiked the Paty Valley and it was so much more than we expected. Absolutely incredible place. 360 degrees of panoramic views all of the time. Some stunnung scenery and some fantastic hiking. Also water falls and pools to swim while on a hot days hiking. It was amazing.

Loved the pousada da ponte hotel - high quality The town is lovely and has plenty of shops and bars Restaurants - 4 or 5 are up to standard. The tracking is great - dont miss the sunset at the table mountain.

You can have amazing hikes threw the national park with a guide for a few our or a couple of days. Don't forget your bikini or trunks to take a swim in the river and slide from the... More

So much to do here, do yourself a favor and don't cheap out on the number of days you plan to stay (minimum 3 nights). Poco azul and poco encantado, while more touristic... are well worth the visit. There is nothing like swimming in a cave of beautiful clean clear water. Nothing.

You will need a guide to fully appreciate the park and get around. Although some people were hiring cars and doing it themselves, but we appreciated our guide s he knew the roads and as the weather wasn't great in the morning we changed our tour to take in the caves first while it rained and then we did the... The Chapada Diamantina is a great national park, in which you can roam for a couple of days. I stayed there in February 2014 and was impressed by the beautiful nature and the impressive scenery. Please note that the infrastructure to reach the Chapada's beautiful scenery is poor... And therefor it's so great to visit it! Hope this park will... More
