Its quite a bustrip (8 Hours) from Salvador but totally worth it. The park has some amazing views and it will show you a different side of Brazil. The people of Lencois are one of the most hospitable people I know !

The multi day treks are said to be great. I went on a one day trip, highlighting some of the sights fairly close to Lençois. Nice enough, this is overpriced, while, in my opinion, only two parts of the tour are worth the trip. The first was a superb lunch, the second the view of the table mountains.

We ended up staying a week, including a 4 day treck through the park. Tours are a little expensive but when you factor in the costs of the posadas in the middle of nowhere it's really not so bad. We booked with Zen tours for our day trips and the hiking as they had the best prices by far. The... More

Stunning scenery, extensive trails, and a great way to disconnect! I did the Vale do Patí trail in 3 days, 2 nights and it was amazing! From hiking through valleys with amazing views of plateaus, ascending thick jungle vegetation, passing through caves, summiting impressive rock formations, swimming in iron-rich black water holes, and frolicking below waterfalls the trek was exhilarating!... We went on a three day trip to fumaça por abaixo and I can say it was categorically the best thing I've done in the last decade. I think you know it need to go on the distance walking trips to make the most of Chapada. I went on a day trip to Poço Azul and Poço Encantado, but they... More

Chapada Diamantina has beautiful spots and for the mainly Brazilian tourists it must be a hiking paradise. It looks sometimes very similar to the French jurassic or southwestern moutains, but not with the same diversity and the sertao can get a litte bit boring. There are impressive hotspots like Fumaca-waterfall or Torrinha-cave and others, but the problem is that you... More

The park itself is lovely and definitely worth a trip. Many tour operators offer hikes of a couple of days. We chose to do the two night tour with one night in the park, which would have been great. The girl selling the trip to us was very nice and told us that we only need small backpacks, the guide... More

One of the highlights of our trip to Bahia if not Brazil! We regret not being able to spend more time in this wonderful region as there is so much to see and do. Towering mountains, stunning waterfalls, refreshing waterholes and otherwordly grottos, the Chapada Diamantina is a special place indeed. While it takes a bit of effort to get... More

Waterfalls, rivers, caves and green all over. Beautiful landscapes with exotic flora & fauna. Quietness, mindfulness and always a safe feeling. Best trekkings of the world (all levels). Lovely and magical.
